Has everyone on here given up on MLM then?

I know a few of you used to do them (maybe when you first joined TMS) but I can't even remember the last time I saw someone peddle their amazing MLM opportunity on here or on Facebook groups.

Am out I out of touch now and people are stilling happily paying money upfront to sell their amazing home/makeup products?

I was actually at a market the other Saturday and there was a forever living stall there which was staffed by 2 girls who were selling minimal products but pushing heavy on their chalkboard which said something along the lines of 'Ask me how we can change your life financially for the better' - As always it's mainly about the recruiting with MLM and not much about selling the products.

I just had a look through all the threads in this section and I just seems to be an endless list of posts from people that start out full of excitement and enthusiasms and then bail sadly.

Your regular job is a pyramid, you'll never be the CEO of your own company ;) #ShitRepsSay

Mine are long buried, silly time of my life! I blame turning 30

God I remember seeing that line trotted out all the time

CEO, yeah good luck with that

I still do MLM, but I don't actively recruit which I know no one on here will believe so I don't even know why I'm bothering to reply actually. I do however work with a company that is quite different in the sense that they actively discourage people from signing up 'cold market' prospects and are way more about selling products than recruiting. I did at one time do Forever Living but gave that up some time ago now.

So who are your latest MLM company then?

Do you think there is a reason why people who do MLM flip from one company to another all the time?

I think there are a lot of reasons - some of them are rubbish, whether its the products or the people there are some really rubbish companies out there. some people I think like the idea of MLM but don't realise how much work it is to actually make money, when they don't make money they assume its the company that's the issue and join the next one they like the sound of. People's expectations are not always in line with what is achievable, often due to the opportunity they are sold when they initially join - when I joined forever I was all but promised 'products that sell themselves' and '£200 - £400 a month in your first few months' when people don't achieve this they get angry and there are lots of reps out there who specifically recruit disillusioned reps from other companies promising that their opportunity is better. There is money to be made in MLM, but the chances of becoming a six figure earner are slim, especially in a short timeframe. I don't earn a fortune, but then I don't necessarily need to because I have a full time job, for people wanting to earn a full time living its unlikely that MLM will work for them, certainly not straight away anyway.

I am now with a reasonably new company called Votre Belle Maison and I honestly love it, there is no pressure and I know all the profits the company make go to funding an amazing idea called a little box of love. I don't make a fortune, I know some people make a little more than me and some less but most of us are happy there.

I also do MLM, with Wikaniko, and have my own personal product-based website - I link to the business opportunity but like most of the distributors there, I concentrate on selling the products; most of us there have a passion for eco-friendly products and protecting our environment and to that point haven't even tried to recruit... If it's permissable, I'll put my web address here, not to try and get custom/distributors, but to show you how I do it.. http://www.trvnaturalworld.uk

Are you getting much traction on that website in terms of pushing people through to the main Wikaniko site?

3 things stick out to me about your page

1) It hasn't got a SSL setup (no https) so chrome etc. warn me the website isn't secure

2) The ecoEgg blurb in the middle just looks like a copy'n'paste image that every Wikaniko seller would use

3) Is having only 1 5 star review really something you want to promote?

Hi Jon, I'm getting a small push through to the main Wikaniko site but not as many as I would like. I realise it hasn't got an SSL and it's a big problem with many webs.com site builders, as webs seem to be ignoring the issue - to that extent I'm currently building a new site on wix, nearly ready, just waiting for the domain name to transfer over, but here's the long and ugly link to it as it stands...: https://trvnaturalworld.wixsite.com/store

Crikey, SSL requirement has been around since I think Feb/March of this year!!

Don't understand how they can just do nothing about the fact they don't offer it!!

You've made the right choice moving away!

I used to do a MLM business but got sick of pestering my friends and family and just wasn’t ‘into’ the product enough. It felt inauthentic in the end.

This is a regular pattern I’m afeaid

The real question is what unearth is it about the MLM pitch that seems to make so many people sign up to do them via Facebook or whatever

I think people want to believe they can succeed and get ‘the lifestyle’.

What is the lifestyle though do you think?

From the outside looking in it just seems to be endlessly calling every female friend you have babe or hun lol
