Lovely people I need some help. I need the date and time that appears in orange (you know in the bottom right hand corner) removed from some photographs without it costing me. Can anyone point me in the right direction please x

You can get free programmes a bit like photoshop such a Gimp. In photoshop you would use the 'clone' tool to take it out, might be the same in that - google will probably show step by step.

I called her a told her about GIMP last night. ;)

I'm no whizz when it comes to things like photoshop but I'm slowly getting better at GIMP. Adding watermarks etc to my Younique images/banners etc

Watch a few Youtube videos and you'll have it in no time :D

I'm crap with anything like that... Going forward though maybe you can remove the date stamp from the photographs via the camera? Just an idea for the future pics x

Yes think I have it set so the date and time don't show up on my photos. Any type of photo editing software should be able to remove them though.

Yes [member=920]katykicker[/member] I wouldn't have the datestamp on, but it was my dad's camera, and he's deleted the bloody pics. Agggh.

[member=277]Chammy[/member] lol I thought you called me a gimp, you're right haha. I downloaded it and I have no clue what I am doing (as per usual)

There are a few ways to do this.

You can 'photoshop' it out like Twiggy suggested. That is a bit more time consuming and needs a bit of graphics knowledge and judgement, but you'd be able to keep the full picture. If you're a photoshop whizz then you might get better results using the healing brush rather than clone stamp - both depend somewhat on the complexity of whatever's behind the stamp, however!

This is a crude example using a photo by Courtney "Coco" Mault:

Alternatively you could simply 'crop' the photo to cut out the timestamp. This is usually easier to do, even on a batch basis. However, you'll lose not just what's behind the timestamp but also everything else along that horizontal line:

cropout.jpg

You'd probably want to maintain the aspect ratio of the photo; by that I mean keep the ratio of (say) 6 x 4, so that the photo keeps the same shape. You can do this by cropping and zooming in:

Have a play in whatever photo editing software you have access to. You could always download a trial version of Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or Paint Shop Pro if you need something with a bit more 'umph' - 30 days should be long enough for you to go through and fix the photos!
