Hi, have decided to give this a go today. Have backed West Ham to win and understand that I can lay then not scoring the first goal at the exchange, cannot seem to find the market for doing this though on either Smarkets or Betfair. Any help on which market it is would be very much appreciated

No, that would mess you up if the other team scored first then west ham scored two.
You could try the Next goal market on Betfair. Lay West ham to score the next goal before the match starts. I don't think there is much in it though. Better to back and lay as normal then cash out a profit at the exchange if west ham do score first.

with matchbook, you need to click on 'All' at the top where it says popular, handicaps, totals etc and then scroll down until you come to the 'team to score first' .

Do you realise that you need to use a different calculator for this bet? to work out the back and lay stakes needed.

Might be best just to do a normal back and lay, as suggested by @homie for this week and then look into how to do this method for next time.

P.S. Sm don't currently have a market to do this method for a Lay Bet.

If you do this method - compare the Betfair and MB odds (with the different commissions) because sometimes MB works out better as they get nearer the match starting, especially if you have 0% commission with them. (this will change though if you change to the Betfair 2% commission just offered recently).
