Hi everyone - I normally work at home with one other person but three more people in my house are now working from home. Anyone got any tips for staying sane? Thanks :)

Yeah for me it’s not just that it’s the fact I like working out of the house two days a week and I can’t do that anymore so I am now living and working in the same place 24/7 which is less than ideal as it means it becomes hard for me to Separate the two

Bit like that red dwarf scene where rimmer has them all qurantined in the same room thinking they have the hollow virus and end up attacking each other after a sprout diet and crochet patterns as entertainment

Only had less than a week and while I normally love the school holidays, not being able to go out is going to be hard. I have signed up for a free history course and can imagine doing more over the months.

Do you get on with all of them? Might need to sort out some ground rules.

As much as it will be hard, at the moment I keep reminding everyone in my house it has only been a few days perhaps a week or so for some who self isolated. It is the next few weeks and months where it will be harder.

I was watching the news this morning and Stephen Fry whos is the President of MIND, made some great points. We have plenty of time now. Where we would be rushing to do things and getting things done by a certain time, we can take longer to do things, as many of us have no hard plans for the next day coming.

Being mothers day I got my two sons to cook tea and we spent a good hour or so in the kitchen this evening doing that. They enjoyed it and the food was nice :). I have being spending my days doing lots of different things. Today was clear out the spare room so eldest can get his drum kit set up, but I did it little bits at a time, so sorted some bits out, had a break, a coffee, checked emails etc, then posted some items online to sell, stopped and watched TV, sorted some more bits from the spare room, cooked lunch, emptied the dishwasher, looked at facebook etc, went back to the spareroom job, had another coffee break, called a friend who is at risk, sorted tea with sons and etc etc...

Tomorrow the day will start and I will be getting the rest of the family up and into a routine of school work, and housework and play time, amongst the work I have lined up to do. As this goes on I will be looking at how we get outside and exercise but that is not needed now but in a few days or next week.

My wife came downstairs today and said she was bored, my reply was it is no different to any other Sunday and it has been 4 days since we started staying in, lets put things into perspective :) not meaning to be harsh, but we have a long way to go......

I always have goals to achieve each month so I guess it will be revisiting these and see if I can make some different ones, but it will be one day at a time.

Most of the time yes but it feels a bit strange to be around three more people and I prefer it when it's just two of us working from home.

Agree, routine is key. My daughter was complaining about the amount of school work she is doing, I told her she should just be thankful for it as when the holidays arrive and online school closes, she can then enjoy the increased leisure time rather than feeling it is more of same. We have ordered games and puzzles and are doing YouTube exercise videos together. I'm also trying to ensure the 'work' areas do not spill over to the 'leisure' areas plus we all have time apart as well as time together. This could last for months or just weeks and being a bit organised will matter. I really hope the parks don't end up closing. Good luck everyone.

Unfortunately, this may go on for quite a while, have you had a house meeting to discuss how things should be structured or are you all doing your own thing? It might be best to get your ducks in order before cabin fever sets in which I imagine it will for all of us!!! Good luck

I really wanted to get a new gaming PC to help with the downtime but the prices have gone through the roof and the pound is extremely weak at the moment.

Well it's gonna be fun here! Daughter has had a text from the NHS to say that she has to stay at home for 12 weeks. She is not to leave the house, and nobody from outside can come in. So, that's me, her and husband completely trapped for the 12 weeks. If him and me go out anywhere, then we shouldn't re-enter the house. So we can't get food, medicines etc unless someone delivers it. And as none of the supermarkets have any available delivery slots, and the local pharmacy doesn't deliver, we are well and truly screwed. Apparently food drops are being arranged for people on the NHS list, but nothing is arranged yet - how helpful is that.
