Do you put any rules in place for yourself to follow? Like a maximum amount you are willing to do each day or a maximum amount of time and then THAT'S IT, the laptop is going off..

It's important to me that I self regulate if only for those who live with me lol

I start work very early and I don't want my evenings to involve having a laptop out so unless I am absolutely forced to (online focus group, some urgent TMS work that needs doing) then everything is done on my phone or iPad.

Sometimes if you are trying to hit targets, say do 10 surveys a day, that may be easier said than done but surly there has to be a point where you just say 'that's enough for today' and you close the laptop lid.

I suppose it is a bit of a double edge sword as if you don't regulate yourself to do enough each day then you just won't get done what you want to do in terms of earnings

I do put a limit on the amount of time I spend on my laptop.
During the day I will do what I can surveys etc but evenings my laptop goes off. I could do more in the evenings and earn a bit more but I want some relaxing time.
Pus I find if I work in the evening then I don't sleep well at night so now I switch the laptop off around dinner time and that is it until the next day. I have my Smartphone on anyway for e-mails etc just in case something comes through that needs done.

I actually don't put a limit on, and sometimes it is a real struggle to remind myself to go and watch tv, go for a swim or read a book.

Is there a reason why you don't limit yourself at all?

Because I want to be the best, and therefore think I need to work 24/7

Crikey, how did you get into that mindset?

Have you been like that from the start or were you slow off the mark with something and suddenly realised how important it was to be proactive rather than reactive

Actually, it comes from when I was a child. I went to a private school system where we worked at our own pace. Each day, we would set ourselves goals of how much work in each subject we would do - the goals were then checked to ensure we weren't doing too little. There were 144 books in our entire school life (grades 1-12) for us to complete. Finish them early and you could leave school early, simple. I was already 13 books ahead in each subject (12 books a year, so I was a year and a month ahead) when we left South Africa when I was 13.

I definitely find it harder to stop and relax than to make myself work.

In my current job, no one ever keeps tabs on me, so it is up to me to set my goals and do the work. Then I go home and set money making goals too. I am all about goals.

My average day goes

Up at 6am
TMS Account approvals that have come in overnight + daily routines
6:30-9am 63336
Job 9-5pm (I try and fit in any FIeld Agent / Roamler jobs into that working day if I can)
Evenings I deal with TMS promotion. This can involve writing content for other sites, or creating content for the Blog or making posts on here. Connecting with people via various social networks

What started off a just 'a forum' has now become 'building a brand' for me which is taking a LOT of work!

I find it easier to do all this mon-fri where I have structure in my day

Sat/Sun I am just all over the place with what I do

I'm actually thinking of writing a list of everything I need to do, writing it over the course of a week so that I don't forget anything, and then coming up with a timetable.

It is hard because unlike something like 63336, blogging isn't just writing a post and publishing it. It is about chasing paid opportunities, social media, checking emails and researching your blog ideas, as well as commenting on other blogs. Then alongside that I do things to make extra money. There's no way to say that "X blog posts = £100", which I do miss.

so maybe you are working so many hours as blogging isn't a guaranteed income with a set number of hours required. Even if you do all those hours there is still no promise that you will get the money you want out of them.

I think things like blogging should be treated as a work in progress, as you won't earn anything instantly, but the long term rewards could be superb and the time spent can be worthwhile if your done the necessary research.

When I do any blog article either for my own or an affiliate product via the Amazon program then, I look at it as perhaps a £50 piece of text for future sales and certainly productive as far as time and money are concerned :)
