This is something I would like to focus on this year - I’ve been doing far too much high effort / low value stuff. I’m prepared to put the work in but I think I’m misdirecting my efforts! The past couple of years I’ve got to around 20/30 per month from 5-10 hours variable. I’m switching to some matched betting now but that’s involving some up front learning and thinking!

yeah you can do miles better than that

but then that's why this site exists, to push you to earn more in less time as we know you can!!

Ha thanks Jon! That’s the sort of encouragement I need! My aim is to put some big effort in with the aim of helping someone out of debt. I’m not even going to keep it myself

I started out a year ago and did anything I could get my hands on initially, then started to drop the really low paying stuff. My circumstances have changed in the past month so I now really need to focus on earning as much as I can in as little time as I can (a couple of hours a day max instead of on and off all day!), won't get anywhere near some of the amounts people on here manage but should still be around £400/£500 per month hopefully.

I don't MB at all so mainly Leapforce (although coming up for contract renewal time again so that could disappear in feb!), User testing, a couple of my favourite survey sites and any odd bits that come up (had one offs from appen/utest etc). Need to update my diary!

You have to factor in the fact that I have dumped all low paying work and it's taken me a few years to get my sites to where they are so that I can earn money from them passively.

It's not an overnight thing

If you want an overnight thing then go work for Leapforce / Bongo / Do Matched Betting ;)

Just wondering are you still doing tasks on apps?

Definitely sounds like the Pareto principle is working here, particularly with @Jon.

I also had no idea that @katykicker was turning over quite so much whilst being a stay-at-home mum.
That's pretty damn inspiring!

It's also set the bar nice and high for my wife if we fall pregnant! :p

I had to look up what that meant lol

The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. ...

If something isn't worth my time then I simply don't do it!.

I've been around the block long enough to know what is high paying work and what isn't and so don't bother with the former.

I literally just do 2 things not to make money online, matched betting and blogging - that's it!!!

The less manual work the better!

It can also be true that something very high paying but stressful could not actually be worth it! I’ve certainly been in that situation. It’s a life balance!

I've made around 50k in 2017 working online PLUS Another 100k from matched betting. I won £68,000 in one day so that was nice. I haven't blogged about it though as it was more good luck while matched betting than any skill!

The thing to remember is that if you are just going to stay doing low paying work (surveys etc.) and aren't willing to try new things to learn new stuff then you aren't going to earn more money for your time!

You have to give yourself that payrise with self employed work lol
