I have been wondering about bank accounts and am organising myself through having several accounts for different purposes. I have decided I want to use more than one provider too, all eggs in one basket and all that. I am currently thinking below and maybe I am making it complicated but it seems to be focusing me!

Main current account where salary/drawings paid and bills paid etc- using a long-held one with high street bank 1.
Matched betting current account - not yet opened.....
Spending current account - thinking maybe Starling or Monzo.
Money app - I go to Ireland quite a bit so thinking Revolut as easy.
Savings - instant access emergency fund account, high street bank
Help to Buy ISA with building society (not owned my own property before despite being over 40 for various reasons)

What about you? How many bank accounts do people have? And what do you use the different ones for? Are they with more than one bank or financial institution?

(Hopefully this is in the right section!!)

For various reasons the number of accounts have keeps growing but...

Main current account for wages and general spending - HSBC

Main savings account for mortgage deposit (max amount going in each month) - Aldermore Help to Buy

Current accounts for feeding into above help to buy: TSB & Nationwide

Overflow saving account (so any money which exceeds above thresholds for interest goes into here): TSB

Two current accounts - one was going to be closed after the second opened, but they brought in a good offer so I kept them both.

9 other accounts that are used for various saving pots - one is an ISA and some are closed on a regular basis as they are fixed term higher interest

Lots...
1. Main account for salary etc and general spend
2. Joint account for joint bills (eg mortgage)
3. Account for matched betting
4. Account for personal bills (eg mobile phone) so I don't accidentally spend it!

Easy access - wages
Current account - Extra stuff and investments
Everyday saver - general savings house fund not bad interest as easy access
Regular saver - has limits what you can put in each month
ISA - Save a little more each month - crap %
Investment account - managed fund not a bad return
P2P lending - not a bad return

I just have a current account, a credit card and an instant access savings account, all with one bank. I've been putting any money I make into the savings account to keep it separate, and it's working out well for me :)
