more and more I read stuff that tells you to voice from a personal point of view on your blog rather than a generic one.


People maybe feel they can connect more with bloggers if they are 'in their shoes' rather than a faceless identity who is just punting out content every few days.

I agree with you Jon.

I think the trick is to make it personal but always have a focus on what your readers will want to read and share.

The tips about pictures I like, because there is nothing worse than blogs that are large blocks of text, they're off-putting to readers. Pictures break things up nicely and people hang around on your page longer.

Images on twitter too REALLY help with engagment and getting more favourites and retweets. I personally found a big jump whenever you use one.

Very good and helpful article.
Social Media is the way to connect with more people. I have now finally got around to setting up a Twitter and Facebook Account linked to my Blog.
At least they show up in search engines which is another way of bringing visitors to your Blog or Website.
I have never liked or seen the point of Twitter but see so many other people using it I know I need to use it to help promote my Blog same with having a Facebook Page.
Images I like too rather than just a wall of text good to use them in Blog posts.
