OK, so I've a manged to set up not 1 but 2 Instagram accounts, and am delighted with the engagement to my posts, getting lots of likes, comments and new followers, but what do I do with it? How do I convert that enagement to money? I'm putting links to youtube videos from the post it's self, but why would anyone click on the link when they can watch and share the video in insagram, I think I'm missing the point!
It anyone else having success with Instagram?

I've literally just started the Instagram game but from speaking to @katykicker you need to get to around 10k followers and then you can put direct links in to your pictures as I've seen bloggers with big numbers do that

Until you get to 10k you would maybe look at doing a 'sponsored post' type stuff I guess where you are paid to advertise services the same way bloggers host blog posts.

I offer shares on Instagram as part of sponsored post packages, usually at an additional cost of around £75-£100.

Also, you can get paid from some companies, I'll drop you a DM with one you can join x

I'm not sure I understand that, so people pay to to share their stuff?

Ah Ok, so I need to get 10K followers first, well I have 74, so better get making some more!!
Is this engagement you are getting from UK folk who will actually buy into your services / products or is it people from the USA etc.

Yup

In the same way we are paid as bloggers to promote services / items etc.

Oh you started a new thread great!

@katykicker you offer shares on instagram ? sorry what does that mean

@Skinnylatte maybe in your youtube videos you could put follow us on instagram at the end of the video , that may help bring in a couple 100.

Hi. I'vegot 1 of each really
1 account will be targeted at people in the UK to buy stuff, and the other in the USA to share stuff

Currently I am doing a mixture of things

1 new photo a day
Using lots of hashtags
Commenting on lots of other peoples pics and stories

Building up your presence on any social network can be like pulling teeth at times so you just have to sort of get on and accept how slow it can be at the start lol

1 new photo a day - that is probably the hardest for me .

I need to build up a portfolio of pictures to do this.

@themoneyshed

My pics are a mixture of 'stuff I do' and promoting blog posts.

Though I have a feeling looking at Instagram and speaking to @katykicker a lot about it that Instagram is more about getting 'you' over with people rather than your blog. At least until you get to 10k followers and can insert links into your picture posts.

Does this mean posting random stuff that you see and do on Instagram to build up your presence, rather than just focusing on stuff relating to my blog. I have always tended to avoid this with Facebook, cause I hate the show off mentality of it, but guess I need to make myself interesting to follow

I'm not sure it's showing off as such but you need to put up facets of your life

If you go shopping and buy a nice item, take a photo

if you are out for a walk and see a nice building, take a photo etc.

I think the fact you literally can't promote links on there until you his 10k in followers is a good thing if I'm honest
