Hello - can anyone point me to blogs/stories about people and their matched betting journey. I have been doing it for a couple of months but I'm struggling to see where the money comes from. I'm sure I'm missing something but I thought that reading other peoples journeys from the very start might give me a bit more incentive and see where I am going wrong! Thanks, Laura

You make money with every risk free offer that you do (hence it being RISK FREE!)

Here's my story anyway

Thanks for your replies. I'm signed up with profit squad but just feel like I'm breaking even. Will have another look at where I'm going wrong!

I don't know about profit squad as I use profit accumulator, but on PA their calculator shows the EXACT qualifying loss and profit tha tyou will make per offer. To begin with I was a cynic and used to add up all my balances etc to ensure that the figures were correct, over time I now trust the numbers and copy whatever is on the calculator as my profit/loss in to my notebook.
If it says you're making profit and you're following all the correct steps, backing and laying properly for the correct stake and liability etc then you can't really go wrong..
How many offers have you done now? Starting out it can feel like it takes a while to get going and bring profit in, but then all of a sudden it snowballs when you do more offers etc

Thank you! Have swapped the matched betting website I'm signed up to
and after reading your posts and blogs I'm ready to get going again. I seemed to be stuck at my pot of £80 and just couldn't move past it but I'm hopeful that tonight I might get to the £100 mark. Thanks guys!

So which matched betting website were you with? And which website are you with now?

Good luck!

I started two weeks ago and am plodding through the signups. I'm going quite slow as I'm rubbish at record keeping and it's easier just to have two or three on the go at once so I know which offers I'm waiting for. I don't know why they can't all do like Coral and credit the free bet straight away. It's annoying to have to wait three days in some cases, I've forgotten about them by then. Have to be quite painstaking in tracking everything back.

Having said that, I've made a good £150 already, maybe more.

are you folk not using the built in profit trackers with both PA and OM?

It really is the simplest way to track all the money you are making!

I use the profit tracker spreadsheet on OM - but use a diary to keep track of free bets owed and when I withdraw from a bookie I make a note to check that it is in my bank a few days later. I used to use ultimatcher to keep track of everything, but I got fed up with maintaining it - too time consuming!

Yes, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. The thing that springs to mind though is don't you need to have an ongoing subscription for that? I might have a month off in say, December.

It's my understanding that you can cancel your subscription on the home page at the end of the month and restart when you want. Your account is still active, so I'm assuming your data is still safe - Not sure if anyone has tried this?

Yeah you can definitely have a month off and come back to it, I've done that before! Cancelled and re-instated no problems. This was with Profit Accumulator.

It seems good for tracking winnings, but what I find the most challenging to keep track of is where the free bets are coming from. If I do too many, I lose track, so it's better to just do a couple at a time so I can keep on top of it. No rush. I'm currently working up to having enough in Betfair to cover the £50 Ladbrokes bet, after that I might actually withdraw some. *yay!* So far I keep on opening new accounts and depositing more cash, so it will be good to start recycling.
