I've been toying with a small business idea for a while now but I think I'm spreading myself too thin so would like some help to narrow things down.

I run social media channels for my church as a volunteer and I've really come to enjoy it. Especially making graphics. My day job is in software testing and I love that too.
I thought of combining the two by offering social media services as well as testing but I'm not sure they go well together on one platform - unless I can myself a digital guru which I am not.

The social media part is also complicated because my industry knowledge is really with Christian organisations but I want to offer my services to anyone really. Also I've noticed that churches in the UK don't tend to pay for services like this - it's big business in the US though. So I didn't want to limit myself to just churches but again it looks too disjointed if I separate it out. Hope the above makes sense.

So question is, do I run with what I know and risk notor throw my net wide and

So by the sounds of it you are wanting to offer 'social media services' to churches or small communities/companies is that right?

I used to pay £200 a month to someone for social media scheduling so the money is there ;)

It's a combination of scheduling and creating images so people download and post when they want. And there's also the testing aspect of it. I think where I'm struggling is with presenting all my ideas coherently on the website. My husband thinks targeting small businesses is too restricting but bigger companies would probably just employ someone in house. Ugh so hard.

I might just put everything on there and see what happens.
