Improving my 'pages per sesssion' stats

I've been wanting to improve my PPS stats (which may, or may not, be of interest to you).

On one of my monthly competition blog posts it gets a lot of hits but this shows a high number of visitors just to this page. On the page I included a collection of hints and tips to help people get bonus points in the competition.

Yesterday I decided to separate these out into their own blog post. In the last 2 days I've had 75 page views of this post and hopefully I will see this increase over the month.

Whether I have got 'extra' page views from this or just reduced my page views for normal page I don't know yet but my feeling is that these are EXTRA page views, which is good for me.

I thought you might be interested so I'm letting you know - if you want more page views then check your blog posts and if you can separate them into two posts without affecting the readability of the original post then it might be worth a go.

Would an alternative to that maybe be to internally link more within the 'super popular' posts..

Make sure you're not setting your own posts to 'open in a new tab' as this will affect it too negatively.

So less than 1 month in and I've successfully doubled my pages per session stats.

What I am seeing is more page views across the board. Why this is the case, I don't know. But I'm happy with it.

Maybe.

More Regular posting is probably helping also.
