Hello all,
do any of you do in shop matched betting, or sharbing as we call it?

There's plenty of value in the bookie shops, with a few doing the acca refunds, Ladbrokes, Paddys, Dave Pluck, if you live in Liverpool useful if you've been gubbed. However, the odds aren't as good, but it's possible to scratch a living from them.

I also find if i hit the shops early, i start at Freds, i can do any Pricewise boosts, then Fred does his own boosts on the horses and footy between 9:30 and 11:00am, great for making a few quid on.

I also get a lot of free bets from Laddies thanks to their grid card, i very often mug punt if i'm passing a Laddies shop, and i usually get a free bet a couple of times a month for this, plus, using grid, they do free bet if 2nd in shop too on ITV racing.
In summary, shop arbing and accas are the way forward for me, after being gubbed quite heavily, maybe it's something you could consider too?

Have a great day.

Mike

Back when I used to do mystery shopping I used to have to spend more time in Bookies than was probably healthy placing moronic £2 bets and doing 20p spins on one of the video roulette machines, think those experiences have scared me for life!

Sharbing is definitely something I could easily do as we have a great number of bookies in Leeds city center around my work place so I could do that at lunchtime without any trouble at all!

Do you ever get 'gubbed' from the bookies store though?

Hi Jon,
there are a couple of things to be cautious of.
Firstly, most shops have a PTL limit, this is a limit that they can take over the counter without needing to ring the trading office to get the bet accepted.
It varies event by event, with major premier league games, letting you put on more than a second division game for example. I find sticking to sensible limits of between £25 and £50 per shop is just fine.
If you have loads of bookies and are free at lunch, you will find Hills, and Laddies usually do price boosts then. Also, at lunch, most of the firms do BOG or best odds guaranteed between 11am and 1pm. So if you can find a no lose qualifier or two, and hope it drifts, you can do nicely out of those too.
With the footy coupons, it depends on the cashier too. Some will let you put multiple coupons through using the same grid card, as they just don't care, others play it by the book. It's worth doing a trial run, and getting to know the staff.
Also, at Xmas i take them in boxes of biscuits and such like, just to generate a little bit of goodwill.

It is something I have been thinking about @Jon I am in a MB whatsapp group and seeing the extra profits those that go in store have been making this week is very tempting.

I've never been in a bookies in my life though and I am sure I would look a right plum. I want to go and get a grid card though so I need to get a grip and get on with it.

It's not that scary. If you want to get paid for it sign up to Market Force as they have a LOAD of bookies as clients and their Mystery shopping tasks are literally 'go in a place a £2 bet on anything'

THAT'S IT!

Hey @Leeceford , honestly, you wouldn't look a plum. Loads of females frequent them now, think of the money :) My sister does this, and supplements her student lifestyle quite nicely. Use a shop like Paddy Power, or Betfred first, were you don't need a card. Maybe just do an accumulator, or a pricewise selection and dip your toe in. Give me a shout if you need any help.

Cheers

That's a great idea, Jon. I didn't know that, obviously, but it sounds ideal.
Just stay away from the roulette machines, unless it's a task.

So what are we 'generally' doing here

Going in, place bet on horse, hope odds drift and then we lay on our phones at the exchange?

Nope, that/s just for the best odds guaranteed part. We are going in and collecting the footy coupons for the midweek and weekend football, and placing accumulators, in the way you would normally do an acca refund, hope one game loses.
Then, we are looking for in shop price boosts, there are many of these per day, usually at set hours, this is normal back and lay, but these are very lucrative.
Also, osme games have special offers themselves. Ladbrokes recently done money back in shop using a grid card, but you could use the match odds market, so far less in qualifying loss, you also got a fiver free machine play if you used the special coupon. I will try and post up some of the offers I see daily/weekly when i haven't got my daughter climbing up my leg.

Am I missing something? What is the advantage of doing the in store accumulator offers, they are exactly the same as online (if one lets you down in a 5+ accumulator get free bet to same value)?

Hi Mark,
it's for those who have been gubbed, or want to do extra accas in a week, but don't have lots of accounts to do them with. Doing them instore is ideal for this.
Plus, combine them with the price boosts whilst there. It's pretty good.

Thanks maccyb25, I completely forgot about gubbed accounts. Makes much more sense now, especially if they are running regular price boosts too.

Hi chap,
no worries. They do the boosts daily. Especially Fred. My acocunts are mainly sadly gubbed now, so I had to look at alternative methods.

My favourite offer is back.

Ladbrokes are doing free bet if it's a draw in the under 21s , Germany v Spain on Friday night. If you use a grid card in store, you can bet on the win draw win market, which gives you a far, far smaller qualifying loss.

If you do choose to do this, remember NOT TO BACK THE DRAW. That's the outcome you want, so bet either a Spain or Germany win. If you go shop to shop doing this, my advice is to take a pencil so you can lightly mark which betting slip belongs to which shop. Make sure you erase it before you take it in of course. I for one, will be filling ones boots.

Thanks for highlighting this mate, looks like i will be getting a grid card!

Just a quick couple of questions, does the grid card give you better odds?

And how many bets do you normally place per shop? In this example i presume you will back Spain in one shop, walk down the high street to the next Ladbrokes and back Germany in there?

Apologies its too early for me!

Of course there is no need to back Germany as suggested in above example, you will simply back the team that has the lowest QL in each shop and lay off each bet.
