Hey all,
has anyone heard of these guys?
They sign you up and then you have to do a handwriting test, upload it, and make money by handwriting notes, and letters for them.
My OH has just signed up and is waiting to see if she has been accepted.
The customer service has been excellent so far, answering my questions quickly and in detail.

No fee to join or anything like that, so if you have decent writing, i don't, sadly, feel free to sign up.
That's not my link by the way, it's just the link that was given on the site I took it from.

Have a good day.

Here's the reply I received to my query.
Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting in touch, I’ll give you a quick rundown of what the company does and how your wife could help us on our mission to help others be unforgettable.

At Inkpact we found that correspondence between people had become automated and impersonal and we wanted to change that. So we send handwritten notecards and letters on behalf of our clients which has been proven to connect and engage with people far better than writing an email ever could.

What we would be looking for your wife to do is write notecards and letters on behalf of us. The way it would work is that she chooses which job she wants to do, then we send the stationary for her to write. When that arrives she would write out the letters from the platform and then, after they have been confirmed by our quality assurance team, send them out to the recipients.

Hope that helps, let me know if there are any gaps.

Many thanks,

Will

This sounds interesting, thanks for posting. Have they given you any indication about rates of pay? Couldn't see anything on their website.

Hey Claire, no they haven't as yet. I'm presuming you have to pass their wee test first with your handwriting. If you want to email direct and ask the guy, he's really helpful. It's will@inkpact.com

Have a great day.

Sounds interesting. Myself and my daughter have just applied. :)
Ah, I remember writing letters. Before email I used to have pen pals. Do they still exist, I wonder?

I applied for this site yesterday and have just heard back from them.

I honestly have quite bad handwriting so wasn't expecting a lot. But the email back says they are accepting me... BUT I need to pay them!

"The final step would be to secure your Writer Starter Pack (with a £25 deposit) by following this link: ...."

I don't know. Seems a bit off to me just because of that. With the amount of scams out there and people always saying that you shouldn't pay for the opportunity to be paid. Especially with there being no guarantee with this site that you will be paid. You send them the writing you complete each time and they decide if it is decent enough to pay you.

Looking through the email more, it explains that the £25 covers them sending you:
  • A fountain pen and cartridges
  • A light pad and grid rule
  • and some note cards for one off samples

All of which you send back once you have finished with the company.

Oh and a 300 word letter (including the envelope) is priced at £1 by the way :)

I can't believe this scam has raised its ugly head again. I applied for something similar to this back in the day before computers and mobile phones. Basically you paid a deposit and then they sent you envelopes to hand address - only it never, ever happens because it is one huge scam. PLEASE don't any of you do this, once they have your money you won't hear from them again but if you contact them they will just say there is nothing 'in your area' at the moment and they had such a huge response they have to delegate work on a first come first served basis etc.

I wouldn't say it's a scam. Yes they pay pennies, yes they get you to pay a refundable deposit. No, there's no guarantee of work but the young lady who set the company up wouldn't have her face splashed all over the internet if it were intended to be a scam. I think they mean well.

I got accepted too (thought I'd give it a go despite my messy writing) but probably won't go ahead with it as god knows how long it would take to get my £25 back in earnings. If they haven't already, I think they'll probably end up with more writers than they do work to give out and lots of people will earn either a few pounds or nothing

People throw the word 'scam' around too easily.
