Social media has been on my mind too. I have watched YouTube videos, read blog posts and looked into Clickbank. I am not comfortable with my friends and family knowing what I am doing on the side. I just don't want the judgement (from family). It has happened before many years ago when I was dipping my toes into MLM. When it didn't work out, or more correctly, I realised it wasn't for me, you could almost hear them say 'I knew she wouldn't make it'.
Now though, I am comforted by your responses. No, I am not looking into fashion/beauty or travel as my outlet - still haven't actually decided on the direction....... but I know that doesn't really matter as there will be an audience for whatever subject I decide to base my blogs upon.
Side story for you. My son went to university about 7 years ago to study video gaming and video animation programming. In his very first lecture, the lecturer told them that unless they had connections in the industry they were highly unlikely to get a job in the gaming world. He asked the room of about 150 people if they were making any money on the internet. About 5 people raised their hands. Most of them were selling on auction sites with only one person blogging and at that time was making £1,500 per month regularly. He'd had his blog for a couple of years. His blog subject? Horse saddles.
HORSE SADDLES????
Who knew there was so much interest in horse saddles? So, I am going to trust that there is an audience out there for my blog and I will monetise it in every way I can and that I too will be able to earn significant income in time.
Looking forward to linking it here when the time comes.
Thank you for your feedback and responses.
