I swear it is you know!

We have the likes of @rich110991 and @amyjay doing amazing numbers each month with their own creations. I've been able to create a 'content mill' service out of nothing but sheer panic that I had naff all money coming in and no government help to boot!

I've just seen another couple of are offering Zoom calls at £5 a pop to families dressed as Anna and Elsa from Frozen and are making an absolute FORTUNE and they've done NOTHING more than promote this service through social media!!

I think people this year have honestly just thought they have nothing to lose and to hell with it and it's making for some great stories of success at a time when it can be very gloomy!

Anyone else tempted to make the leap?
Seems to be quite a bit movement from keyworkers who feel they were thrown under the bus back in March and now want a very different life!

Potentially yes. But a lot of people like the stability of knowing where their next paycheck comes from.

I've had the advantage of being able to build my business whilst furloughed and even now, I'm only working 50% of my hours and furloughed the rest of the time, so it gives me the time to grow without worrying where my income is coming from.

I know someone else who got furloughed from March and they basically built up a plastic water bottle business overnight putting peoples designs on them and they were turning over something mad like £50K by September!

Sadly I have no ideas for my own business! And I don't like committing too much time to anything and a business needs it LOL. Instead, I have doubled down on the whole FIRE idea during this pandemic. This year has taught me I don't need that much to be happy/content. I know Jon isn't much of a fan of FIRE but the retire early element really appeals to me!!! I'd be quite happy to live modestly (but luxuriously would be better) and never have to do paid work again.

That's why I'm focussing so much on Amazon kdp. Id love to be able to work part time or retire early ( I'm only 28 just now) and with kdp, it will give me the ability to have a passive income with very little effort.

I wish I had known about it when I was your age, I came across it about 6/7 years ago. If it means I can halve or more the work I do by the time I'm 50/55 I will be very pleased.

more power to you taking the lead with the KDP stuff at only 28! Took me until my 30s before I started to think about going it alone and creating an online business for myself!

Would like to make the leap to being my own CEO one day.

For now, will continue full-time work alongside extra income ideas.
Currently experimenting with:

- Print on Demand merch
- Amazon KDP low content books
- value betting/mathematical stuff/sports trading

Due to start soon:
- Selling printables on Etsy
- Freelance writing
- new blog/website

Interested in others opinions in finding the balance of creating content for "others" platforms (Etsy, Redbubble, kdp, etc) vs. creating your own website/web presence...

I think doing a mixture for 6 months / a year is a good way to start

over that time you can build up a whole raft of customers and contacts who would then come with you to your own platform as they know how good your content is
