I signed up with Isoftstone ages ago but never had any projects with them. Last week I had an email from them about an upcoming transcription project. I did some transcription with Appen earlier this year which wasn't too bad so I replied, expressing my interest. Did anyone else get the email?

Have you heard from them since applying?

I got the email from them last week and only replied to them on Friday so I am not really expecting to hear from them just yet. I thought it was worth giving it a go but I wouldn't be surprised if I don't hear back from them or just get a generic email saying that they've recruited enough people.

iSoftStone is currently looking UK based search engine evaluators.

I have enrolled with them and at the training stage, how to judge a page, criteria and marking scale etc.

They are paying around £9 p/h working from home.

Anyway, has anyone done this before for them or similar company? (Leapforce. Lionsbridge)
Is it anyway difficult or pretty self explanatory once training has been completed?

Did you find it enjoyable or was it quite laborious and boring?

Not sure how to proceed, any advice welcome.

Happy Easter

I’ve done web search evaluator work for leapforce. Once you get into the swing of it it’s easy enough but there is quite a learning curve at the start

Do you have to commit a specific number of hours per day/week for Web search evaluatoe work?
Also, can you do it on an android smartphone?

You just login and work whenever you want.

You would do it using your android phone alongside your laptop

I only have a smartphone at the moment. Could I use a tablet? Looking to plug the earnings gap when the football season finishes soon.

Is that true for all the Web search evaluator companies?
The work is typically the same.

I haven’t done it in a few years but unless things have drastically changed it’s quite involves work while you are doing it which is why you would need the laptop

Hi, so I actually applied for the position "English Transcriber" but they informed me the position was fill and that they had openings for the "web evaluator" positions.

Maybe email the directly stating you heard they have openings and would be interested.

You need a laptop/PC with Chrome. Work a minimum of 10 hours and maximum of 25, paying £8.50 / £9 p/h.

I have read all the training material , so staring the training tomorrow. There are 200 web results to evaluate.

Take it slowly! Must people fail the exam because they don't clock just how much there is to do! Use the guidelines! That's what they are there for!!

Are you usually timed for each evaluation?

I tried a few of the training sampled this evening and there was a 3 minute counter.

The training material never mentioned a time limit.

So far I have got 9 out of 10 correctly evaluated.

Well done. Yes with web search evaluator work there is normally a timer attached but it’s a minimum they want you to spend on the task (at least it was with appen / leapforce)
