Just wondering if it is okay to join any of the exchanges on the oddsmatcher or if I need to wait until it comes up in one of the PA demos.

Definitely sign-up with Smarkets as soon as you can as their commission is 2% rather than the 5% on Betfair, and this will save you a lot of money over your time Matched Betting (and they have a £10 sign-up offer). Matchbook are useful when you start doing a lot of horse betting as they have 0% commission on some days of the week, but can probably be left until you get to them in the PA list. Never used Betdaq myself.

I do most of my exchange work on Betfair still because of the liquidity but I agree with jkg-jkg, get Smarkets open asap.

You will need Smarkets to lay any Betfair bets you may do in the future.

Thanks Guys. One more question. I did the Sunbet this morning - £5 for a free £10 bet. I have received the free bet and they have also refunded my £5 stake. My horse didn't run. Do they refund stakes for that reason? Is this normal practice among bookies? Sorry if I sound like an idiot but it is confusing at times.

Smarkets and Matchbook are an absolute must... i stopped using BF exchange very early and never touched it again.. 5% vs 2% or 1.15%

Matchbook is currently 1.7% and is payable win or lose (Smarkets and Betfair only if you 'win')

Yes, if your horse is a non-runner then your bet gets cancelled, it would also have been cancelled on the exchange.

So I was going to open a Smarkets account so I could take advantage of the low commission and because a lot of the exchange bets are from that company. However, it offered a £10 free bet. Do I take this and work it out on my own (as it did not come on the list of PA offers) using the procedures on PA? If I do this will it affect the '£10 refund on your first losing £10' coming up soon on the PA list?

hmm good question

If it's a straight £10 free bet to use on smarkets I see no harm in using it and backing at a bookie as SNR

I joined Smarkets and spoke to the live chat help. It turns out that it is pretty much the PA offer. The £10 works as a refund on my first losing bet on Smarkets. So I will use them and hope my horse or team loses. This matched betting is quite challenging. You get the excitement without the big risk.
