Hi everyone! I'm new to the site and relatively new to making money online although I've been researching it for a while now.

I currently no longer have a working laptop and I'm sure most will agree that this opens up alot more possibilities for earning online.

I'll be using my smartphone in the meantime to try and make some extra cash but I would appreciate some recommendations for laptops. I have no real specifications, I just need it to be decent enough to try out the ideas/sites listed here.

I had a lenovo yoga before which I loved until my youngest destroyed it. I appreciate there is alot more choice now, and this one will be kept far away from children!

I don't really have the funds to buy one right this instant so I will be earning money from my smartphone in order to pay for it (which I appreciate could take a good while seeing as I'm only really doing surveys at the moment) but I think having a number to aim for will make it more of a proper goal and motivate me more (even if that number changes between now and the actual purchasing time).

I'd be very grateful if people could recommend which laptops they use/like and ways I may not have come across yet that I can earn money from my smartphone to put towards it.

Budget £300

Split that into earning £10 a day for a month.

On day 30, go down to tescos and buy the cheapest Windows laptop they sell.

Then set a plan of earning £20 a day for the next month using your new laptop to help

on day 30, spend £300 to get your children superglued to a wall. Then they wont break your new laptopl.

In all my experience, you recommend people the cheapest laptop you can get from Tesco.

1) They can get it
2) They can spend CC Points
3) They can collect CC Points
4) It has a 12 month warranty
5) Its easy to return to a tesco

My actual recommendation to anyone is buy a mac. They then see how expensive they are and ... well.... end up buying the cheapest windows laptop they can get from Tesco.

Well...they often buy the CHEAPEST laptop from tesco and then get annoyed at how 'different' a chromebook is. And it always needs the internet. And it wont run some weird software that no-one else in the world uses.

I love my mac. But for someone currently doing survey sites on their phone, a Sub-£300 laptop will give them access to higher earnings much quicker...and in 18 months time, when they are earning loads but burning their legs with the heat the laptop pumps out, I'll point them in the direction of a Macbook!

I have a Lenovo. Cheap and cheerful but now in year 3 of being used for several hours every day and still working well. Copes well with all the biscuit crumbs and tea splashes that come its way.
Should be able to pick one up for under £300 if you shop around.

Definitely don't get one of those chomebook things.

What’s your budget for this?

Ideally I would like to spend no more than £400 but really it's an investment so if I were to find something decent I knew I would use for years to come I would be willing to budge a little on this.

Thanks for your advice, it certainly seems alot more achievable when it's broken down like this. I will see what Tesco have to offer as there is a large one close to me.

As for the children they're both still quite small so I reckon I could do this job well under budget. It's a win-win situation.

I did love it and it lasted me well until my youngest spilled coffee on it, my other half neglected to share this information until I plugged it in to charge and it caught fire...

I'll definately have a look around as I'm already familiar with it and as far as I'm concerned it did everything I needed it to.

You can easily make enough for a decent laptop in a month on just your phone. I think if I put the effort in the apps I have on my phone could probably make me £20 a day.

As for laptops my IT friend recently recommended a HP on to me. Can’t remember the name right now but it was about £330. Buy it using a cash back site too for extra savings!

I remember when I first got into proper 'working from home' (ie, not swagbucks etc) and was doing Text Q&A on a sodding Lenovo NETBOOK which for those of you who don't remember was basically an 11" laptop with a VERY cut down version of Windows on it but they retailed for like £99 and I thought it was a great investment

Gah, dark times! Uses that for any longer than 30 mins used to mess my arms up as my hands were so damn close together!

I use a Chromebook for Swagbucks, Qmee, Lifepoints etc. It enables me to do surveys on two different machines at the same type (I'm one of these people who get disqualified because they're too fast. I also use it for watching Netflix/YouTube (or rather listening to) while reading articles etc. on my laptop.
I bought the Chromebook for less than £100, it's a Lenovo one. I've had it for over 3 years now, it's a sturdy little machine. No hard drive though, which explains the low price.
