Not really no I was just trying to save and save and build it up.

Thanks mate. Do you have to prove business insurance for your car and everything for JustEat though? I will look into it thank you.

This cheered me up lol. Thank you :)

Watching you young man, and don't forget it ;)

Agree about the savings account or how about a pension fund? That would be harder to get at. As others have said, you made it once you can make it again.

I know mate, it's just going to be harder this time without Beelivery. But I'm up for the challenge. Time to press the reset button.

I'm on one of those Amazon product review websites and I'm trying to get as many items as I can to be able to do a car boot sale with it all. I've only got about 10 products so far lol but it's a start :)

There is a specialist insurance provider called "Zego" they specialise in food delivery insurance... mine is pay as you go... you only get charged when you accept an order and its 90p an hour... most JE shifts are 4 hrs, if you went a couple of hours and never got a job you wouldnt get charged... think most JE and Uber drivers use Zego

Thanks. How much would you make with JE in 4 hours then? I don't know much about it but if you've made £300 in a few days then that's really good?

I've just tried to sign up and it says select a zone that you want to deliver in but my area isn't available by the look of it?

I've been trying to sign up to Uber for months as well and the verification code never comes through to my phone. I've just emailed them to try and help me, I've entered my phone number correctly so I don't know why it's not coming through. Hopefully they get back to me. I've signed up to Deliveroo but I'll do all of the document checks and everything tomorrow.

I have had same thing with Uber and the code... currently am stuck at insurance...they accept Zego but seem to have an issue with Zego... Deliveroo keep sending emails saying i am on a waiting list... If you cant find your own area on JE just take whatever is close...if your area opens up at a later date you can get them to add it... earnings wise.. on my first 4 hour shift i did nothing 3 hours then got 2 in half an hour ... 2nd shift was 8am-12 ..mostly cafe's Greggs and Tim Hortons... was ran off my feet...made about £90... next shift was that night made about another £90...next shift did about £55 , picked up an extra short shift yesterday.. 2 hours did 3 jobs for £27 and shift last night made £94 just KFC and BK runs (and got 2 Beelivery along the way too LOL) i had £25 in my Zego account to start and after all those shifts have just under £15 so about £10 of insurance for all that earning...not bad.... BTW if you wanna sign up using referral to JE my code is HQ3JM2 and if you take out Zego my referral for that is RL6INM (gets you and i £10 of free cover)

Ok the closest area on JE though is about half an hour away? I've just been put on the waiting list for Deliveroo too. And I'm waiting for Uber to get back to me. Thanks for your help.

I’ve started the application with JE. It says they are reviewing my information and will be in touch to unlock the courier bag step or something. I think I need to get a criminal record check and right to work check done though.

Yeah with the checks etc takes about a month from apply to accepted... Seen mention of the courier bag thing apparently you are meant take a pic of bag and your ID together.. I never did any of that.. In fact am still waiting for my bag.. Hermes "delivered" it to my house yesterday apparently.. So am using a cheap themal bag from amazon till it shows

Thing is with the closest area being like half an hour away I’m a bit worried about paying for all of these things, if it was my local area then I would.

Half hour away isnt so bad really... i have 3 zones ..one of which i live in, but the busiest is the city centre zone takes about 20-25 mins to get there, but then i am running around that area for next 4 hours... there isnt that much outlay really.. you can get hire and reward insurance annually which can cost well over a grand, but i use Zego it is pay as you use..i only start paying when i collect an order until i deliver it... i loaded it with £25 and have now done 34 deliveries since saturday made just shy of £400 and have used just under £15 of insurance..only other outlay was £6 for the JE bag (which still hasnt arrived) and £10 for a temporary bag off amazon so that i could start earning and petrol... Its certainly a good extra income source, and if you sign up to all 4 delivery companies a good living can be made.

You really are a trooper with this sort of work @mabozza

Hopefully the regular app work will return in a few weeks as well for you!

Nighttime billboards would be ideal to do alongside this!

I’m trying to talk to Uber but it’s like talking to a brick wall. How did you get past the issue with the verification code not coming through?

They’ve just emailed me back saying you can sign up via our sign up page. No kidding!

"""""DROOLS""""" Night time Billboards mmmm """"DROOLS SOME MORE""""" Actually i have over £400 in Roamler currently ...all that earned since March... Its been great for "proper" task apps tasks... i had barely done a task all of last year. Even FA i have made more than double since March what i had made in the entire time since it was taken over!! so its been not bad on the task apps front really

The issue with me was because i once started sign up to be an Uber cab driver , i had to delete all my Uber profiles (including rider account) and use a different phone number... TBH i really dont know how it resolved, they freed up my main phone so i could change number, but even after changing the codes got sent to other number... anyway, seemed stuck on the insurance bit, then yesterday got an email to complete background check so i am just waiting on that completing then i think i will be able to work... Wish i had done this and Just Eat far earlier as am picking up loads of shifts..got minimum 2 shifts each day since starting...looking like i will earn roughly £700 in first 10 days (could have been more if i wanted more shifts)

No point crying over spilt milk. Remember how gutted you felt at the end of it all and etch that feeling into your memory.

If you ever get that urge again, drop me a message and I'll happily remind you, partly because I want you to do well and partly because I'm a sadist.

Otherwise, give yourself a little pat on the back for every day you build your funds and for every day you don't gamble. Positive reinforcement 'n' all that.

When I tried to sign up to Uber they said I had to go to London to register there. Are they not doing that now then ?

No but I’ve give up it’s like talking to a brick wall when I’ve emailed them about signing up issues.

You’ve smashed it.

JustEat have just emailed me about the background check and insurance. Is it all quite straight forward to do? And how much will it all cost me?

I think I’m going to go for it because even though the closest zone is like half an hour away. It’s not like I will have to keep going back and forth is it? If I choose a 3 hour shift then I’ll just be staying in that area for 3 hours? And do they only show you jobs in that area that you’ve applied for? Or will they show me closer to home jobs as well? I’ve emailed them anyway and said is there no chance of the work being closer to where I live.

I've been making money online on top of my full-time job for over 5 years. I started on a different website and found TMS through Katykicker so here for a while too. There were times I'd make up to £500/month easily. I lived in a big city with lots of Roamler tasks, had time to do a lot of surveys etc. I have none of that money saved somewhere and I really regret it but like a lot of others here said it happens so try not to beat yourself up about it.

Over the last 12 months, I've been saving more. I have opened up a LISA and using online earnings to build that balance up.
My job is very demanding and stressful so sometimes I'm just exhausted to do anything else after work and often look at other people's earnings with awe.

There is no point trying to be perfect and fail at it - just learn from it and move on. Lock your money away and hopefully next time, it will be better.

I only just found out that the background check costs £38 which they take off you over 3 weeks £13 a time(monsters!!) The background check is very easy... takes 5 mins, youll need proof of address and ID to send pics of, and then you need get H&R insurance ...easiest is the Zego if you arent doing it full time long term... the zego links to your JE/Uber accounts all very straightforward. The shifts are 4 hour blocks (although 30 mins from end you get a message saying you can clock off if you like as unlikely to get sent jobs) If the zone borders your home area you can hang around near the border and pick up jobs around there... i have done ones well inside another zone that i am not working...but once completed you get a message saying you are too far out your zone and to move closer to continue receiving orders... TBH you can set the map to show "hot spots" in your zone...best is hang around within a hotspot and get more jobs sent to you. When you get set up you set your availability on the app...this needs done by midnight weds and you will get allocated shifts thursday between 4 and 5 i have had 5 4hr shifts both weeks and if you want more you can pick up open runs which when someone rejects a shift it is grabbable but really is fastest finger first...bit of a pain as you have to constantly refresh and they literally go in under a second..or you can get overflow shifts.. when its busy and they need more drivers (TBH only decent in your home zone as you will maybe only get 2 hrs work)... Uber Jeez yeah... i constantly get a useless email telling me i have given wrong document with no feedback as to what i should send!! phone line doesnt work...email is "no reply" In app chat is off 24/7 they are murder
