I didn't really know where to post this and I don't know if it will even help but I just needed to tell someone as I feel like I can't talk to anyone.

I made a lot of money over the last few months, I had over £3,000 in my bank and it took a lot of effort to make that money. I've blew it all. In the last couple of days I've lost over £3,000 and now out of all the money I've made I have about £500 left. I'm gutted and I'm so stupid. I fucked up.

Keep telling myself it will be ok and I can build it back up but Beelivery has dropped off completely this week and the mystery shopping apps aren't how they used to be before lockdown yet.

Just needed to tell someone :(

I understand

Draw a line under it, you know what you did and the consequences it's had. That's the important thing.

Learn from it and start again. You'll make that £3000 back by the end of your Lionbridge contract!

Thanks John.

I was thinking that too, I might just let that build up and not withdraw it.

@rich110991 the main thing is being able to learn from it and move on knowing that you won't do it again or can prevent yourself from doing it in future.

Sometimes it takes something difficult to make us realise when we've went the wrong direction and need to reassess our situation but thankfully you haven't lost everything you had.

I've seen some stories where people have had all their life savings riding on one company or one bet and they've lost it all, changing their lives immediately and altering their financial direction for the foreseeable future.

See this as an opportunity to be wiser and more considerate with your money. Like you said, you've worked hard for it, so you don't want to throw it away knowing what it cost you to earn it.

Chin up and know that we've got your back! You'll bounce back from this and we'll be here to support you!

Thank you guys I don't want it to seem like I was looking for pity because I'm really not. I just can't tell anyone about it in my life and I needed to unload it somehow.

Your words of encouragement have already boosted me a little. Going to crack on with Neevo and Operator as much as I can for now :)

You don't need to answer it but how did you lose this money?

@rich110991 If you think you're at risk of doing this again then it might be worthwhile looking into transferring most of the money you earn into a savings account that requires notice to access. That way should the urge to gamble it come around again, you won't have the funds available to do so. It might be a good way to safeguard the money that you've worked for!

I thought you were registered with Gamstop? Have you found a loophole they don't know about?

No mate I just went into a bookies. Shame they couldn't remain closed. Or shame I just couldn't have not gone in rather.

I forgot to mention that didn't I. Sorry. I gambled it all.

Okay, I thought so. As someone who has grown up in a family with gamblers, I would say that you cannot do this alone or through sheer will power. Can you join gamblers anonymous or gamcare for support?

I know that if I had an addiction it would be gambling. I'm speaking as someone who has seen how it can destroy a life yet I can feel its pull. I managed to do some match betting but once the easy offers had been done I self-excluded from most of the sites as I don't trust myself not to return and blow the lot on slots. I don't have the ability to walk away once I start so for me it's best I'm not allowed on it in the first place.

Good luck with it.

Thank you I have tried getting help with it in the past but it's never done any good to be honest. I've got to be stronger.

@rich110991, you are a silly sausage. I have been watching you make all that money and I am gobsmacked. What you have achieved in a short time is amazing, and now you have blown it,
tut tut.

Now I am more of an ass kicking kind of girl but I am going to make an exception for you. I am going to smack you silly on your bottom young man. So bend over, take it like a man and don’t make me ever have to do this again. Do you hear me? ;)

(The answer is “yes Ma’am”)

I’m watching you, no more gambling!!!

You have done really well to make the money in the first place and you will do again. The savings account is a really good idea.. do you have some thing that you really want to save for up - holiday, new car? Then keep reminding yourself of what you want to spend the money on.

Thanks mate. Do you have to prove business insurance for your car and everything for JustEat though? I will look into it thank you.
