I have previously used a piece of software for many years that runs in the background on your computer testing websites and their speed etc and in return have been paid for this. Unfortunately this has recently closed.

I've found another called 'Loadteam'. It runs on your machine in the background and you get paid for it to use your processing power. You can set how much of your processor is used, so that your computer performance isn't affected.

It is early days and you aren't going to make a fortune, but it looks like I'll be earning a couple of pounds per month for having this running.

If anyone is interested, details are at:

https://www.loadteam.com/signup?referral=1K59Z1GGEW

Thanks in advance

Isn’t it going to cost more than a couple of pounds a month to run your computer doing this effectively wiping out any profit?

I'm not sure how much it costs, but the idea is to have it running whilst you are using your computer - so it isn't costing you anymore than you would be paying when you use your computer anyway, but get paid to do so.

Not bad! Hope the new software works out similarly for you. I’d be worried it would slow my computer down too much I think.

The old one definitely didn't - There was nothing noticeable speed wise in terms of my computer or my internet. The new one works differently I believe (completely different company), but the earnings are not going to be as good as the old one. Just have to give it some time and see how it works out - Worth a try.

The old one I have been running for many years and almost reached $1,000 from it.

It always changes my opinion of things when you look at the big picture and add it up. A few quid a month doesn’t sound amazing but when you say nearly 1000 overall it puts a different spin on it doesn’t it!

The previous company was for website monitoring (speed testing, availability testing, etc). The new one states:

"LoadTeam is a Windows app that helps you make money by harvesting your computer’s idle power.
The app runs quietly on the background, processing jobs one by one. When a job is completed, your computer sends the result to LoadTeam and you get paid by the job. You can transfer your money from LoadTeam to your PayPal account as soon as your LoadTeam balance reaches $1.00.
You can run LoadTeam on as many computers as you’d like and the longer and harder your computers work at completing jobs, the more you get paid.
LoadTeam is trusted by thousands of users from all over the globe and our community keeps growing."

This doesn't sound too bad - I like the low payout threshold at the very least!
