Well done!thought I’d have a go at this and created about 20 books earlier in the year, mostly just notebooks and planners. I forgot all about them and logged in to my kdp account recently after an email from them and was suprised I’ve actually had some sales although they are all of the same book so 19 haven’t sold at all!
Trying to work out why this book sold and now I’m trying to create similar books.
Unfortunately I priced all my books quite low so not much profit!
I’m interested to hear how others are getting on.
I do planners and other types of low content books. Are you guys doing planners /journals etc or actual written content as in short novels or non fiction /guides etc?
Yes, I do a lot of research. I use only Amazon to do all my research. Making sure I'm picking a niche that isn't saturated but also will make me enough sales.wow thats amazing amyjay! Did you do any reasearch on niches/keywords beforehand?
I didnt do any research just tried different theme covers for notebooks and some free templates i found. Ive created my first interior using canva so going to keep trying out new things.
Good point about creating your own interiors.
In Canva, which shades of grey do you use? (are certain greys/black too dark for a printed book?)
Also, how do you centre align the Cover Title in Canva? I uploaded the cover template, added a Square Element to the centre line, all looked good. But when uploading to KDP - the cover title seems off-centre to the right.
I usually click on add text which should appear in the centre of the page and then turn it 90 degrees so it looks like it’s where the spine should be and use that as a guide.Good point about creating your own interiors.

So 5 of my 12 got accepted for publishing today. Even if no one buys one ever I feel I have upskilled and learnt something new so thanks so much for those that have put advice and tips in this post. I do have something I want to create with regards to one of my daughters activities but will take more time and headspace that’s I perhaps have currently but watch this space...
@hanna.obrien.79 , how long did it take Amazon to accept your books?
