@Annie Beau - since I started I've sold 11 products and had one commission so I've earned about £10 pounds in total. For me it has become less than an income stream and more of a hobby. I've got 60 designs loaded onto 4 sites (but not Amazon :() and I have had great fun creating those designs. When I get a sale it is a bonus and I get a bit of a buzz from it. In the words of the immortal Del Trotter 'this time next year .......'.

Amazon Merch seems completely swamped, every man and his dog seem to be doing it. What sites are you selling on? the admin on the FB site I referred to seems to do okay with ETSY , again print on demand using Printful, I'll PM the FB link if you like, theres load of info on the post and in the files.
I think for me, the main issue would be getting to grips with Gimp (as a standalone sentence, I am aware how weird that could sound..)

I have uploaded my designs to Redbubble, Teespring, Zazzle and Spreadshirt. All the sales I have had have been from Redbubble.

I hadn't realised ETSY also did POD. I will spend some time in the new year looking into this and make ETSY site No 5 for my designs. Thanks for the tip.

Etsy doesn't do POD, instead it's just a marketplace which you can use a POD supplier to fulfil your orders.

Many PODs integrate with etsy so it's easy to upload products but you will have to handle customer service, returns etc.

A UK based one is alloverprint.it

@bobcat2010 - Yes I agree now that I have had a look into it. Printful is the POD site that has the ability to link into sites such as Etsy Amazon etc. Etsy supplies the front end store which takes orders that printful fulfils. Or that is how I'm understanding it. My next task is to create a store on Etsy that I can link Printful into.

just looking on redbubble. How do you avoid getting into trouble with slogans being copied. For instance, there are at least three shirts on there, different artist, all selling a shirt with 'SURELY NOT EVERYBODY WAS KUNG FU FIGHTING' .. different font, one is a colour print.

Really want to start teespring, and when uploading my pics, or even some cute logos/slogans, I'm getting 'print quality is too low', any specific tool I can use?
I have downloaded gimp but finding it quite fiddly.

I use GIMP and I have been able to load my designs onto Teespring. Persevere with GIMP, it takes a bit of getting used to but I found that for anything I wanted to do there was a tuition video on Youtube.

I find paint.net easier than gimp and there youtube tutorials from a lady called yakobelt (english accent too, which I find easier to listen to)
I cant post the link here without a huge image of the screenshot coming up, look for paint, net tutorials, the yakobelt ones are on the first part of the list

It's probably that you're not using the correct DPI. I wonder if the dpi used for Amazon uploads will be better for you even though it's not for Amazon. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw the dpi requirements now but try searching something like amazon merch dpi t shirts gimp template. .. the dpi is on there. (I have got this info somewhere. If you can't find it I'll locateand post tmrw )

Generally you'd be looking at a min of 300 DPI to cover all print sizes and products on the likes of redbubble etc.

The millionaire life style is a long way off. I haven't had any sales since Christmas and my creative juices have stopped flowing so I haven't had any new designs since then either. It's less of a money earner and has become a fun hobby.

Out of interest, what I would like to know from my fellow POD fans is which of their designs have sold dozens of copies? If you have a successful design why do you think it took off? Is is the strength of the design or is it strong promotion?

Did you reapply for Merch? I thought you couldn't reapply once rejected but apparently you can - use a different email address
