Please Note: For these games/money making methods it is only going to be worth it/work if you already like playing the game and it really isn't worth buying consoles or games just to make money. Also unless you play the games you might not understand some of the terms I am using.

My experience (Fifa, Rocket League and CS:GO)

Fifa: So this is the game where I have made a good few hundred off selling Ultimate Team coins (an in-game currency) to my friends and some websites, more detail on this later! The reason this is viable is that coins are in real demand during the first few months of every FIFA game and they are only usually acquired slowly through playing loads of matches, however, there are better ways which brings us onto...

Methods of making coins!

So in the latest few editions of FIFA I have made the most coins by completing Squad Building Challenges. Specifically, the ones that I recommend are the 'advanced ' ones. Here you can spend some coins completing the challenges (look on futbin for the cheapest prices) and then you will get packs worth 5X or more than what you spent. You can open these packs and sell the players, netting you some nice profit in the game.

Another method you can get started with is sniping players this is where you repeatedly search for a player at lower than his value on the transfer market at about 80% of his actual value and then when one pops up, you buy him. You have to be very quick for this and you should also do some googling/searching around on youtube on what players to snipe! This is a slower way of making coins but still good if you find the right players and also good if you have limited starting money.

Other things to try: (You can research these yourself as I am not so knowledgeable with them!)

Mass bidding
Investing
Price Fixing

But how do I sell my coins?

First I would check out some websites that sell coins to make sure your prices are about right!

Well, you can sell them to your friends who may play FIFA (let them list a player worth 200 coins for 10000 coins and buy him for them).

Or sell them to websites. The only website I have used is MMOGA (I have received payments so they are trusted by me!)

I do not want to make this post too big so I will cover Rocket league and CS:GO in my next one (and a few other things). Edit 6th Aug this will hopefully be up tonight or tomorrow! While this is in progress let me know if you have ever made some money on video games!

Also please tell me if I should arrange my post differently or if I'm doing anything wrong as this is my 2nd post! (1st was in introduce yourself)

Right, I am on my phone at the moment as I am out for the day but I did not want to leave you waiting too long so here is my short guide for rocket league, the reason for the guide being short is, honestly I have not had much experience with it! Also, remember this will take ages and is only worth is if you find it enjoyable and do it not expecting to make much at all.

Rocket League: As I am sure you are aware if you play the game there are skins/decals for your cars, wheels, toppers and many other items you can get by opening chests. Some of these do sell for a decent amount on some websites.

Note: Gameflip is an idea for places to sell these decals (thank you to LTedeschi) F9ZSV2 is his invite code!

There are various spreadsheets and places that show estimated values of wheels and skins in the game for each console, I no longer have links to mine as I have not used them for a very long time but I am sure they are fairly easy to find.

Now the concept is simple, trade items that you have for something with more value as people will potentially be prepared to pay a little extra for what they want/think looks nice. All you have to do is keep this up.

You can gain some starting items in the form of crates that you receive from matches which give you some starting inventory value!

There are various places to find people willing to trade and the place I used was somewhere called Rocket League Trading (a club on xbox) this gave me a variety of people to try and trade with, but again I am not as up to date with this as FIFA so you may have to find your own places to trade!

After you are at a skin that you would like to sell (the best selling ones are usually black market decals) try to sell them on websites or to friends or anywhere you trust really, again I am pretty clueless about pricing as I never really did much except sell a few decals to my mates.

Please make sure you check if you are allowed to sell these in-game items and wether it is safe for you to do so if you sell on a website!

Sorry for any typos/if this seems slightly rushed but I wanted to get it out today and it was all done by phone.

Good post :) How safe is it to sell stuff on eBay? Do you use a middleman?

Gameflip (https://gameflip.com/) is a good website to sell items on and is safe to use. I've done nearly 300 trades using Gameflip and they act as a middleman. My invite code is F9ZSV2 if you want to give it a go.

I have only sold stuff to friends so I don't know about eBay, I just heard that some people sell on there. Thank you for your reply and I will add gameflip as an option in the original post!

You're not allowed to sell digital codes on eBay unless you're a top rated power seller with permissions from eBay. Plus you have no security as they're not eligible for seller protection, so if a buyer decided to redeem the code and say it isn't working they're within their right to get a refund and you can't challenge it.

Although, I would've thought that getting video footage of the trade would to as proof of the transaction?

What?

That sounds excellent! How did that work?
ok so let's take a game on the Ps3, I dunno, Burnout Paradise, little big planet, Gran Turismo, Uncharted etc.

Online you could find 'game save' files that you could upload via USB stick to the PS3 and it would unlock all the SP levels (all this stuff was single player online, it didn't have any effect with the online stuff!)

So it was a way of unlocked all the game without having to actually do it and I sold them for £1.79 each. When they sold I would just send them a message via ebay and them email the game save file to them. At my peak, I was selling like 30/40 of them a day with NO POSTAGE involved and instant delivery!

I don't think that kind of thing really works anymore, these days the only viable options for most games are selling in-game currency or items in the game, and even then it can be hard to find places to sell these things!

Yeah 100% agree it doesn't work anymore (not to mention barely anyone has a PS3 anymore lol!)

What about earning money in GTAV?? I'm just starting out on that but I see a lot of people rave about GTA Online and all you can do with it..

I'm preparing for when gifting comes out in Fortnite later this year - the skins in the game are worth a lot of money/v bucks.

Do you win these skins via loot boxes in the game?

Should you not be all over this @Chammy ?
