Hi Guys
Could someone please explaine or point me to a thread or link that expalins mug betting. I understand what it is and why it needs to be done, what I dont understand is - where do you find mug bets and are you betting to lose on these? or can you win? Its just I read you should do 2/3 per matched bet to keep the bookies of your trail, but if your betting to lose, doesnt that counteract any wins?
Cheers, probably being dumb!!!

Hey [member=4173]Just_a_Girl[/member]

Once you start going back to bookies to do reload offers you need to mug bet

To mug bet all you do is just load up oddsmatching on PA and place another bet as you would do normally. You just accept the qualifying loss of a few pence as it means you get to keep your account open.

There is section on PA called 'Keeping your accounts' open from memory and it explains it all on there

Brilliant thankyou - I shall read up! :)

Also note that it's important not to mug bet too much either as bookies may restrict or close your account.

What do you mean restrict or close your account? I know people who have spent £1000s a year with one bookies and never had an account closed. Bookies want your money.

As long as you mug bet to lose occasionally by taking slightly higher odds you are fine. If you end up winning a lot with the bookie (which can be the case if you have close odds) they may restrict accounts.

I'm going by people who I know are professional gamblers and have had this done to them. They too are now mug betting.

Bookies want you to lose. There's a difference!

I think that is why I was gubbed from a few bookies, I had a run of 'good luck' and won every bet I placed over several days (If I hadn't layed my bets off then I doubt I would have won so much)

Punters take risk

If you are mug betting on low odds stuff then no sane punter would be on (1.01 etc) then it's just going to look obvious when come an offer suddenly develop a love of risk

Ahh I was thinking of losing £10 on slots or whatever :) I tend to do a LOT of slot offers so every now and then I let them have a win ;)

I thought mug bets were 'unmatched' bets when I started....you can see about 2 months ago in the MB thread where I realised my mistake! :D

Instead of mug betting, could one choose to play casino/slots? Either way, you're risking some of your money. Would that work for the bookies as a type of 'mug bet'?

[member=1]Jon[/member] is right - there's no point in placing mug bets that are in the 1.0-2.0 range. It barely counts as a mug bet...no punter would risk £20 for a £2 return, unless it's maybe 'their' team.

I tend to choose a team and mug on their games throughout the season.

No

Mug bet on sports

If you get gubbed by a bookie you can still do their slot offers so this is all about the sports!!!

I signed up with a tipster for my mug bets and i'm nearly earning more from the tipster than match betting.

Please to see the football kick off again.

be careful with using a tipster for mugs, that's how people end up losing accounts ( [member=143]auntygeek[/member] to name buy one!)

Didn't lose any but after a few bets with Sky I got gubbed and WH too. After 6 months of careful use, evidently slightly different betting patterns and WINNING meant a gub!

There's nothing you can do even if mugging to prevent winning.

From using tipsters I would tell you all don't ever mug bet on anything less than 1.50-1.60... Nobody bets on short odds unless doing a challenge, no value at all!!

If the above is true can you tell me how?

Matched Betting makes SO MUCH each week via reloads so how are you making more than that with a tipster? (and with risk being involved?)

Because i'm gubbed with three of the bookies now, so it seriously reduced my income from match betting. I did my homework on the tipsters and went with the best one.
