I had media.net adverts on my blog for a couple of days.

It really wasn't received well. I even had a comment saying they were poor.

The worst thing is my page load time went from 5 seconds to 30 seconds!

:(

Off they go....

Back to Adsense?

I didn't take adsense off. My 'baseline' with adsense is about 5-7 seconds load time. With 1 advert it started slowing down to 15 seconds....then I put a banner in the middle of my popular post and load times hit 29 seconds!

Media.net do say 'give us a month for things to settle down' but I don't want to piss off my readership.

Yeah I neve had slow times like their while I was in the initial month. Blog.themoneyshed.co.uk loads in the same amount of time as it did before with their ads manager plugin pulling the 2 ads through about half a second later (again I don’t use their media.net plugin thing you said you were using)

It’s odd cos I looked st site while you were running ads and never noticed any slowdown but then Everyone’s internet connection is different I guess

Just been to look on your site again

Some kind of plugin or code on your site is still wrestling against the media.net stuff on your site (but again I still can't tell if you are using the media.net addon or just simply inserting the ad code normally)

The media.net addon is deactivated *goes off to check* Yep, is off.

I still have 1 advert on the side-bar. Load time is currently showing as 10 sec on google dashboard.

I did think about changing the theme and when I previewed a new theme the advert in the sidebar was displaying correctly.

I might have to look at changing theme. I think it would be good for me regardless.

Right well it's definitely something in your current theme then that is causing the issues.

There are lord known how many UK bloggers using ad networks like media.net / mediavine etc and i'd like to think they wouldn't be if slowdown was a major issue.

It was only when I was trying a new theme that I thought my current theme might be to do with it.

An experiment will be in the making.

So far I've 'earned' about $4. I need $100 to cash out.

I think I'm going to bin Media.net as it is not working for me.

Your ads on desktop / laptop still aren’t appearing in the side bar or within your content because of your theme

I know.

I'm not going to change the theme at the moment so I'm binning them and trying another advertising partner.
