I was wondering if anyone had any experience of Mettle www.mettle.co.uk?
It's NatWest's answer to the online challenger banks such as Starling, Monzo etc.
What caught my eye is it comes with a free FreeAgent subscription - which could save me some cash. ("Online money making" is only a small sideline to my more traditional freelance contracting business - so having proper accounts software is worth while, though FreeAgent have crept the prices up over the past couple of years.)
One downside seems to be it's not a "bank" just a payment service more akin to PayPal than a traditional bank account - and as such any balances are not protected by FSCS protection, but if you're just using it for day to day transactions and moving out any large balances somewhere else ideally into an interest paying bank account it's probably not a massive risk.
