I've noticed quite a lot of these groups on FB and they are a decent idea to help people get sales and have both good and bad points.

One of the things about selling products is that if you are going to buy something, you can buy from yourself which is obviously cheaper and you get paid for it. You probably would not want to line a competitors pocket though because at the end of the day they are chasing the same customers or recruits that you are.

However, there are more than enough people to go around, so I don't think that should be a factor. We are all in an industry that is often seen as just being a scam, pyramid or Ponzi scheme. We all know that is not the case and that many people are blinkered. I think this sums it up perfectly:

With this in mind we should pull together and improve the name of the industry. We already network and share ideas. The main reasons for this forum is to help bring us together and while I will be pushing leads this way, it is also to help people understand marketing and business the MLM way.

Back to the product train. If you don't know what they are, then basically it is 6 or 12 people from different companies that take turns over a 6 or 12 month period to purchase products from each other. Everybody buys from one person one month which gives somebody 5 or 11 sales that month. This gives you one good month but you obviously need to return the favour and buy from them. This can obviously increase sales for you for one month which might help to build some momentum and seek out more sales, but you may also find that somebody really likes your product and buys again or recommends it to friends. The possible problem with this is that many times the person that gets all the sales in the first month or two decide not to carry on which leaves everybody else out of pocket.

I've thought of an alternative way where everybody gets a sale every month, but also buys a product every month which prevents anybody being out of pocket. An extra benefit of running it through this site is that email and IP addresses are captured which provides more security. We can create as many of these as required and can do them in all kinds of price and time variations. Example below is of 4 people over a 3 month period.

Month 1.

Person 1 buys from 2
2 buys from 3
3 buys from 4
4 buys from 1

Month 2.

1 buys from 3
2 buys from 4
3 buys from 1
4 buys from 2

Month 3.
1 buys from 4
2 buys from 1
3 buys from 2
4 buys from 3

We can set product cost limits to any amounts depending on what products we all sell and how much we want to spend. Please let me know if you would be interested in getting involved and/or if you have any ideas on how to improve this or even alternative ideas.

Thank you SO much for enlightening me as to what the 'sales trains' are that I've seen popping up on Facebook (usually as Events). Ahhhhhhh! I see! Still can't quite get my head around it 'tho. Sounds a little bit similar to something my friend Meg, in the US, set up ... it's called IdeaBash and she calls it a 'distribution network for entrepreneurs' so it's not specifically for MLM biz owners.

It can be for any company or individual that have a product to sell. You just need a number of people with products that are in the same price range.

So is anybody interested in this?

It's likely to happen, but I suppose the point is to help each other. Hopefully each person with have a choice of products.

Personally I've never been involved in this kind of thing, but it seems very popular on FB and hundreds of reps seem to be involved. This idea is more to make it a safer option.

I suppose you could sell them or maybe a friend is looking for something like that and you may end up finding a customer for another distributor. Could easily happen the other way around.
