If you want to be popular on Tiktok, make yourself as vain and as vacuous as humanly possible.
I've seen stuff go vital on there that is absolutely crazy and not creative in the least lol

How you translate that into referral clinks is anyones guess lol Guess you make a video about a way to make money and then put the link to it in your bio or something

I've no idea lol. It seems people gravitate towards morons for the most part on that platform.

Actually I think the fact it's 'super quick' is one reason it appeals to those with short attention spans. Matin Lewis is alright, and obviously not everyone on tiktok is an idiot. But you look at those with millions of views and it tends to be the kind of people you probably would want to know or like in real life. And let's not forget they completely ruined prolific for everyone!

They did ruin prolific but that was only temporary and from memory it wasn't marketing that Prolific planned it was a user that ended up making a viral video 'by accident'

I think there's probably great scope for flogging links to late teens / early 20s if you can build the links around something funny and in short form!

A LOT of the videos I see on there seem to be made using equipment that's WELL beyond just a bog standard iphone as well!

Prolific has not picked up yet for me
A couple of surveys for 13p nothing else.
I am in mourning :(
I am dressed in black all day now and listening to sombre music till the Prolific I knew and loved returns from the digital wilderness ;)

LOL - I missed the whole Prolific and TikTok and I am on there every day. However when I was off on the sick I was making £10 a day off Prolific but now I am working I am on at the 'wrong' times.

Back to topic YouTube and Podcasting currently isn't earning me money, it's costing me lol. To be a creator you need a lot of subscribers on YouTube and I am 972 short of what I need :sneaky: So I see it as something I am trying to build to showcase what I can do and then filter onwards. Another equestrian does it really well, releaseses some content but you have to subscribe to her Patreon for the good stuff.

I looked at Audiobooks narrating but I don't have time for it with a full time job but it did look to be quite well paid.

Once you cross that line where you can then earn from YouTube do you think it will be worth your time? I'm assuming long term it is which is why there are so many creatives with YouTube channels

Not sure, its something I do for fun really. I have been putting up the videos of my competition tests for ages. If it made me money it would be great. But for now I am seeing if it does bring anything. The video I did on my KPD books did realise a few sales so there is some hope there. So maybe more as an affilate marketing thing.
I did also get some money from a video I did on a bedding that I use for my horse. They had a personalised affiliate code that I popped in the video for people to use and I've got £30 off the next pallet I order so that's a bonus!
I did look into affiliate marketing but I am so much of a cheap skate that I don't really use many purely horse products. My everyday yard clothes come from Sport Direct and Mountain Warehouse.

I suppose once you pass the threshold you can at least go back to your earlier videos and monetise them more!

I've made money from e-books. I turned my old uni notes into revision guides for GCSE and A-Level. It took me a while but it did make me a decent amount before covid hit and exams became a thing of the past.

I did an introductory course with Inter Voiceover Academy just before the first lockdown. I did one job for them which paid £25. It isn't something I've pursued further. Like others on here, I'm in a real quandry about which way to go to earn money. I have a weekly price checking job which involves a weekly visit to take photos (this take half a day) and it then takes me several hours to input all the prices. I do other bit of work for other companies but have to work round this main deadline. I've also recently completed a Copywriting diploma, it took me nearly a year. Unfortunately Copify didn't accept me. I am trying to get a portfolio together. Its difficult to find the best way forward,.
