Autumn is finally here, which means vacation time is behind us. After relaxing on the beach and enjoying your free time, you are expected to go back to your office and focus on the daily grind and the numerous goals that need to be met.

But even your boss can’t stop you wandering off in your mind and dreaming about your next travel destination. This is perfectly understandable, especially if you are a travelling enthusiast. However, with the sheer number of prospective destinations at your disposal, it could be difficult to make a decision and choose the perfect place to satisfy all your needs.

We believe that — whether you’re a fan of sightseeing, shopping, or gambling — Europe has a lot to offer. The Continent boasts hundreds of incredible destinations everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. That is why we have decided to come up with the three most entertaining travelling destinations you can visit in Europe, as soon as you find the time.

Let’s check them out!

Rome — History and Culture

rome

If you enjoy learning a lot about the culture and history of the place you are visiting, we suggest taking a trip to ‘la citta eterna’ — the eternal city of Rome. The beautiful capital of Italy offers a vast number of places worth checking out.

Firstly, no one builds fountains quite like the Romans. You’ve probably heard of the magnificent Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin and make a wish. Even though it’s perhaps the most famous one, it’s not the only one worthy of your attention. No matter which square you stumble upon while wandering the streets of Rome, there will probably be a breathtaking fountain right in the middle of it. For example, if you find yourself on Piazza Navona, you will be startled by the beauty of Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, so make sure to have your camera ready.

Furthermore, if you are a history enthusiast, you will be in awe of everything Rome has to offer. Luckily, most of the important monuments from the time of the Roman Empire have been preserved. For example, you could check out the Colosseum, where gladiators used to fight. Once you’re done, you could simply cross the street and spend some time enjoying the Forum, the number one venue for elections, criminal trials, and commercial affairs in ancient Rome.

Rome has to offer to everyone, and we believe that once you fall in love with Italy’s capital, you will feel the urge to go back again, as soon as possible. After all, with the number of tourist attractions worth checking out, it is virtually impossible to see everything on your list in one visit.

Monte Carlo — Glitz and Glamour

When it comes to Monaco, the saying ‘good things come in small packages’ rings true. Even though it is the second smallest country in the world, its extravagance can hardly be matched. So, if you are looking for a luxurious place to unwind and have some fun, we believe this beautiful city-state is the perfect destination for you.

First of all, if you are a fan of fine dining, you will be happy to learn that the principality has many stunning eateries. You could indulge in one of the best brunches in Europe. At Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, you will find such mouthwatering culinary delicacies, that you won’t know where to start. On the other hand, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you should taste the historic souffle at the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo. The same recipe has been used for more than 100 years, and, trust us — your palate will be grateful.

Still, we all know what Monte Carlo is the most famous for, so, if you want to try your luck at one of the glamorous casinos, we say go for it! Casino de Monte-Carlo is considered to be among the most beautiful in the world, so maybe you should put your best clothes on and see where the night takes you. The minimum bet is only €5, so why not give it a go? Of course, don’t forget to cash in your poker chips while you are still on a winning streak. Chances are you will run out of luck at some point, so make sure to quit while you’re ahead.

Even though it’s tiny, this city-state warrants a stay longer than a couple of days. You could also check out the view from the Rock of Monaco, or take a look at the prince’s fantastic collection of classic cars. Plus, if you get the timing right, you could enjoy the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. You have to admit — there’s a considerable number of options for such a small country.

Paris — Shopping and Art

Audrey Hepburn famously said, ‘Paris is always a good idea,’ and we have to say we agree with her. The city of lights has something for everyone, so, whether you are a fashionista, a foodie, or an art enthusiast, we guarantee you will find something to your liking.

Thanks to numerous fashion designers who started their careers here, such as Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Coco Chanel, the capital of France is also the capital of haute couture. If you are into fashion, make sure to check the Golden Triangle of Paris, which consists of three streets — Champs Elysees, Avenue Georges V, and Avenue Montaigne. No matter what extravagant fashion item you are looking for — a trendy bag, a luxurious watch, or a pair of stunning high-heeled shoes — you will find it right here.

If you have a taste for the arts, you will be ecstatic about what Paris has to offer. We would be remiss not to mention two of the most famous museums in the world — the Louvre and the Orsay. Here, you will be able to see the work of some of the most revered artists in history, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and Claude Monet. There is also something for those who enjoy contemporary art. If you are interested in this, we suggest checking out the Modern Art Museum.

Paris is also well-known for its cuisine. The restaurants here use the highest-quality produce and employ the world’s top chefs, which is why more than 70 of them boast at least one Michelin star. If you are on a budget, we suggest visiting one of Paris’ romantic bistros. No matter where you choose to eat, we believe the gastronomer in you will be perfectly satisfied.
