As some of you already know, we will be moving house in the next few weeks, and I am in need of serious help, as I need to get my hands on all of the following as soon as possible and as cheaply as possible and I don't really know quite where to start! Where is the best place to buy paint cheaply? Vinyl flooring? Window blinds? Beds? Storage boxes? Furniture? Kitchen appliances? Cheap really is the word as I have absolutely no budget whatsoever for any of this but all of its essential stuff that needs doing straightaway and we can't really move in without! Feeling a bit overwhelmed and not sure where to start to be honest so any ideas as to where I can start looking would be much appreciated!

We got our blinds in B&Q they were doing a sale so were a good price. Worth checking and check for price of paint as well.
We got paint just Magnolia which was cheap in Pound Stretcher.
Check on eBay for anything appliance wise. Argos sometimes has home stuff marked down
Free cycle you may get something for free people get rid of stuff on there and you only have to collect it.
Second hand Charity shops do furniture.

Paint = Wilkinsons
Vinyl Flooring - Carpetright?
Window blinds - Dunelm Mill for quality and frequent sales
Beds - We got a cheap one when we moved in on eBay. Lasted a couple of years comfortably, now it has been replaced by a lovely expensive one but the cheap one did us for a while:)
Storage boxes - Argos/Sainsburys/Amazon from Hong Kong were good for us when starting out
Furniture - We went to Very as got 10% off and BNPL for a year interest free, paid off before the 12 months were up and now we only use Very for cash and when we have vouchers as don't need to get in debt now :)
Appliances - Argos for us when we were starting out.

We've been here less than 5 years. In that time I've had to replace the cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer and almost all of the furniture. If you buy cheap you get cheap, however sometimes needs must so I hope the above has been helpful.

AO do interest free on items and they can do delivery SUPER fast + cashback too.

If you need any specific ideas or want help looking for something let me know :) x

B&M home bargains for blinds and boxes. Also, try Asda for paint - they do their own range. If you're not fussy and just want magnolia or white, then most places do a value range, and you can always jazz it up with some wall stickers from eBay. Beds - try your local paper for ads, or places like gumtree. Same for electricals.

Flooring - forget Carpetright. Get to a local shop and get a remnant. It is just an end of roll. My kitchen and utility is largish and I managed to get a really nice one, a top quality remnant was cheaper than a rubbish one cut from the roll.

If you have an IKEA near you head to bargain corner by the checkout!

We've got some fantastic stuff from there and you can ALWAYS ask them to reduce the price on the items again ;)

IKEA is really good. :)
Got a few good things from there much cheaper than anywhere else.
We got a new mattress from there. Ordered online and delivered all for a really price.
If we had gone elsewhere we would have paid allot more.

Gumtree, and the freebies section on Gumtree. I am currently giving away a solid pine single bed on there with mattress as it is the only thing I need a van for to move, and as i don't need it I'd rather save myself the cost of hiring a van just to move it. I have given away on gumtree laminate flooring, a tumble dryer, gardening tools, and loads of other stuff I had finished with and just wanted gone. People give away sofa's for free or cheap just because it will cost them to get rid of it. Have a look at the furniture section, there are alot of good deal. Carboot sales are great too - for all sorts.

Ask in local shops for free boxes for moving.

We have to move out at the end of the month and still nowhere to go

Also, we bought a Wilkinsons toaster for £4, 4.5 years ago and it's still going strong! I've been impressed with Wilkinsons own paint too.

Yes that is a good place to get things cheaply. We don't have a Wilkinsons near us otherwise we would be checking there more often.[emoji4]

Also I am getting some of those massive zip up laundry bags (home bargains and markets sell them) - perfect for moving clothes and bedding, and can be easily stored when not in use.

Sorry to hear that Twiggy, I hope you find somewhere soon - why is it you have to move, is your landlord selling up?

We will be moving in mid July Katykicker as we still have to serve our notice on the tenancy here. We have made some progress, we have decided on asda for paint and a couple of bits of furniture, Argos for blinds and storage boxes and a local place for flooring and a couple of people have offered to help us move stuff/give us stuff :)

We have everything we need apart from a sofa and a bed (current place is mostly furnished) - on Gumtree we have just got a sofa (£50), matching poufee (£20), large desk £10, and bedframe £50, delivery for all £10. I am going to order a new mattress on interest free credit and we're sorted.

You did well. :)
Sounds like Gumtree is a good place to look for furniture etc.
