So I had a quiet final week but really enjoyed our little family weekend away in Scotland. We had some interesting challenges with the journey but it was all good once we actually got up there. It was looking like I was going to be £4 short of my £300 target for August which was really annoying, but a final well timed website test pushed it over to £301.41! Very pleased with that.

So with paid writing work, a couple of surveys on Populus and testing on UserTesting and WhatUsersDo added on, here is the monthly summary:

Phone apps
£22 BeMyEye
£28 RedWigWam
£3 Streetbees

Mystery shopping
£111.90 ESA Retail
£15 GfK
£8 Ipsos
£4 Mystery Shoppers
£4.05 ProInsight
£11 React
£15 Retail Active

Surveys
£6 Populus Live
£3 Surveybods

Website testing
$1.10 Enroll
$10 UserTesting
£5 WhatUsersDo

Other
£60 Writing

TOTAL £301.41 (with a slight variation depending on the exchange rate for the $)

In September we are on holiday for a couple of weeks, and I have my leapforce retake, so it will be a quiet month. I'm going to target £150.

Quiet start to the month. There doesn't seem to be much around on Roamler, other task apps or mystery shopping.

I've spent the time working on my blog and now I have a paid web design job to work on! Very excited for that.

I've also finally been able to spend some time on Bricklink to search for some Lego minifigures I picked up on eBay and assess their value. It's quite hard to find each one so it's taken a long time. I've found them all now so will see how I go about listing them for sale.

Yesterday I had a couple of paid Surveybods surveys (£2.15 worth) and was able to cash out at last. Woohoo!

Just got back from Croatia at the end of last week. It was a very much needed holiday and we all enjoyed some quality family time together in the sun. We came back and it was winter! Brrrr

I didn't work while we were away, apart from a few surveys here and there. There was one for Populus Live, and several for YouGov. I am REALLY close to 5000 points on YouGov and they just invited me to a series of 10 surveys that pay a bonus 100 points on completion. That should get me over the threshold. Finally!

Also while I was away, I finalised my proposal for my first ever web design client! The enquiry came about as a result of him seeing my blog and he asked me to build a website for his business. I'm really excited for what it can lead to and I'm now seeing if web design/development can work out as the perfect part time career path for me.

Work on the website is on hold for now as I have my Leapforce retake this week. Really hope I pass this time. Back to studying...

Wow! that's fantastic news about the website.

Is it an entire website from scratch you are going to be making him or a Wordpress install etc type one..?

I had the yougov 10 surveys. They came in batches of 3 or 4 so hopefully you can get a pay out soon. I then had the opportunity to install an app for 100 points a month. I may get a pay out soon as well. It has taken about 18 months so far.

I just finished the last survey and got my £50 Yougov cash out! Very chuffed and a nice end to an otherwise quiet month money wise.

Finished my second attempt at the Leapforce exam. It took me half the time that it did last time and I felt like I knew more what I was doing. Still bloody hard though. Not sure if I've passed. I have to wait until next Monday to find out.

Time to crack on with the website build now

Yes I got the app too. I had the browser ext. as well but my computer couldn't cope with it and it made using the internet horribly slow. When I upgrade my computer I'll probably put it back on.

How far are you off payout?

It will be WordPress but I'm going to use Beaverbuilder or Divi so I can have full customisation on the appearance. I'm not sure which is better so I'll be researching that this week and trying out the demos.

So this week I have started my web search evaluation journey. I've done my first hour of paid work

I've also been lucky with the website testing and did a survey for Appen.

A nice start to the month and today I went to HSBC and opened a currency account in dollars. I will pay all my WSE and website testing money into there now and keep it in $. This was my husband's idea as the stability of the pound is getting worse. We felt hedging our earnings by splitting some of it into dollars would mean we have more of a safety factor. We don't want to be stuck in the UK because it's too expensive to travel overseas. We have toyed with the idea of living abroad before too and we don't want this avenue to be closed to us. Having money in $ seems like a good way to keep this possibility open.

How does everyone else handle their dollar/euro incomes? I'd be interested to know!

I’m confused

Why have you opened a bank account in dollars

You get paid by leapforce via western union > your U.K. account

The exchange takes place st the western union end

Unless things have changed

They've switched over to Appen's system now so you get paid into Payoneer. You then withdraw from Payoneer into your chosen bank account without having to convert the currency. I want to keep the money in $'s rather than convert it so opened the $ account :D

If we ever want to convert the money back to £'s I can do that with HSBC, or more likely with Revolut because they have the best exchange rate. We can also use Revolut to convert to € or ¥ or whatever else we want.

Crikey things sure have changed!!

I used to always enjoy getting the Wester Union email even though Leapforce would send it through like with 1 day of the 30 day payment limit left lol

Hey, good to see someone progressing with this! What was the turn around between registering and starting a project?? If you don't mind me asking!
