My latest update is £125 for this month, so well exceeded my expectations of £60 this month.

I'm now hoping to reach £200
Is that £125 profit or turnover?

fantastic result either way!

Profit.

I can't actually see how much turnover I made as the reports Amazon gives, only show my royalties that will be paid for me and not the total turnover of my books that Amazon has sold.

I've now sold 50 books for a total of £150 profit.

@amyjay, just a few more questions if I may.

Do you use the same or different author names if you're publishing books across different niches? i.e. would it be ok to have a puzzle book alongside a logbook under the same pen name?

Does it matter if a book is a specific number of pages? Or do you vary that across each book? Was wondering if it costs more to publish a 200 page book compared to 100 pages.

I'm almost ready to go myself with: puzzle books, logbooks, notebooks, word search book, and a sketchbook.

I use multiple pen names. One for each niche.

It costs more to publish a larger book, Amazon have a calculator you can download that will tell you how much the printing is and what your royalty would be. I have books with as little as 50 pages all the way up to almost 300. My book that is almost 300 is my bestseller. I also use 6 X 9 for most of my books but have some that are larger or smaller depending on the needs of the book.

One of the biggest things to remember is not to create books that you'd like, you need to create books that the audience on Amazon would like and will pay for. Niche research takes up a lot of my time.

Plain notebooks are hard to sell as it is a saturated market. The only plain notebooks of mine that have sold are ones that compliment my bestselling book.

Feel free to pm me with any questions

Total of £272 profit this month which is way more than I expected!

One book accounts for half of the money earnt.

Ive also just published some books in a new niche 4 days ago and have already sold 6 of them, so I'm hoping that this trend continues and I sell a good number of them in August. These books dont earn as much profit per book as my bestseller but I think they appeal to a much larger audience so I should have the ability to earn a good amount from them.

I have 2 weeks holiday from work in August with not many plans other than a few day trips, so my aim is to produce a bunch more books then.

My aim for this month is £350.

I've made a really good start for August so far. I've made £106 in 5 days!

If my selling pattern continues for the rest of August, I'll make £600.

Still aiming for £350 at the minute until I see how some of my new books are selling.

This is fantastic work, do you use Amazon's in-house app to design your books?

@amyjay, how do you create custom interiors in Canva? Just can't get my head around how to create lines and different layouts

I just use the lines feature and text boxes to create different tables.

If you search on YouTube you should be able to find some tutorials.

Sorry, when you say the lines feature and text boxes - I can't find those features on Canva?
The YouTube videos show adding a grey square (from 'Elements') then resizing to the appropriate size.

Yes that's what exactly I do.
Use elements to create lines, rectangles, squares, circles etc and then I put the text into the element.

Made it to £325 so far this month. Had a couple quiet days but it appears to have picked up a little again.

Ive just contacted a blogger to try do a giveaway of one of my products in the hope that it'll get me a few more sales.

So I've ended the month of August of £427. Not as high as I wanted but still an amount I'm happy with.

I've started off this first day of this month with royalties of £23 from 10 sales. So let's hope it'll continue this way.

I'm focusing on coming up with new ideas and creating new books in time for q4 with the hope that my sales will get a greater boost then!

Nice! How many books do you have up there now?
I think around 90 or 100. I've not actually counted.

I'm slowing down with making more books as I'm now working full time. And my latest book that I'm making is very detailed and requires a lot of research so is going to take me longer to make.

It should hopefully sell well though from October to December time.
