Hi Amyjay, I've just started kdp about a week ago. Have uploaded a couple of journals just to get the hang of everything. Do you have any tips, would especially like to know how to find good niche's.
Thanks.

Thanks.

I recommend rachel Harrison Sunds YouTube videos on niche research.
That's what I used.

I also do the bulk of my research on Amazon and dont use any paid for systems.

I still wouldn't recommend them. They give you a number for "search volume" that's meant to tell you how many people are searching for the niche / keyword. But Amazon doesnt release those statistics, so I personally don't trust where they've got their numbers from. I prefer to my research the manual way.

@amyjay, I've been doing niche research using AMZ suggestion expander. Is it worth uploading a book - even if the keyword doesn't show up in the AMZ tool search?

Does the keyword come up at all?
I've made a log book where specifically people were searching for real books about the subject but not a log book and I have had around 5 sales.

I'd say, if it does, you could take a risk and make a book. But I wouldn't recommend if the book was time consuming to make.

No, for some books I was planning to make - the keyword didn't appear on Amazon search using AMZ Suggestion Expander.
Also, how do you niche down from "xyz notebook" which has thousands of search results... If no other AMZ suggestions appear for that phrase/term/topic?

If the keyword doesn't come up on amz suggestion expander, I don't tend to use it. Or if I do use it, I make sure to use ones that do come up.

I don't do notebooks as I find them extremely saturated. It also doesn't fill a need for someone to buy one so it'll be difficult for someone to find your notebook

Not done an update for a while, October was my best month making £550 turnover.

Ive recently ventured into ads, and bought an online course and some resources. But I should be around £400 profit.

This month is looking to be my best so far. I'm currently at £250 for the first 1 week of November. I've spent less than £10 on ads to get that.

Excellent profits. @amyjay, what's your opinion of paid tools like Publisher Rocket, Activity Book Mastery, etc?

I've never used publisher rocket. So don't have any opinions.

I don't like activity book mastery. I tried a few different puzzle book tools and the one I like best is puzzle publishers.

It's more expensive than the others I found, but when making wordsearches, it let me display the content exactly how I wanted which I couldn't do for the others.

@amyjay, Puzzle Publishers looks good, but perhaps a bit expensive.

Have you tried Tangent Templates?

I've not. I make all my templates myself.

I prefer to do this as it makes my books more unique compared to the competition.

This month is going really well.
Just hit £550 which is what I made for the entire month of October.

I should be on track to make around £1000 this month.

I'm slowly building up my portfolio of books so that my passive income can grow.

At the moment, I'm torn between trying to make books that will sell well in November and December time but won't sell in January but have the potential to make a decent amount in November and December. Or to focus on books that will sell year round giving me more of a passive income.

At the moment, I'm doing a bit of both.

I've made it to £750 now. If it continues like this, I should hit £1000 on Friday.

For the past week I'm averaging £40 royalties a day, with 1 day hitting £65.

What about diaries and calendars for the new year? Would that work or not really?
