My Controversial blog post about why I think eBay re-sellers buying from Charity Shops is a bit scummy!

Is not a thing I would do, but don't see it as being the same as the lad selling cakes he had bought and saying he was selling for charity and keeping the money. He was lying to people to get them to buy, I dont see ebay sellers doing that.

I know many charity shop people and they will tell you a lot of people use them just to get rid of rubbish! Don't let charity shops fool you

When I was at college I used to buy the odd item from a charity shop and resell it on ebay. This was going back about 15 years though when prices were really cheap. I perhaps only did it once or twice a month just to help with my bus fares to and from the college. I always assumed that buying something out of there, the charity shop got its money so everyone was happy. I also bought my clothes out of there as I couldn't afford them in the shops. These days things I haven't set foot in a charity shop for years as things are too overpriced. I do however donate a box full of stuff to them once a year when I have a clearout but I wouldn't mind if people bought them to resell as as far as I am concerned, the charity will get their share and the reseller has to put in the work to sell it.

They should have spotted it when they laundered it (the jacket that is! I’m not suggesting they’re a front for laundering money!). So they had their chance
I don't think they launder clothes. When I volunteered in one, we used a handheld steamer to get the creases out if needed. If they laundered it, that good old charity shop smell will be missed ;)
