Hello everyone.

I only began my journey to earning money online two weeks ago so new to all of this. I have a 9-5 job so I have limited time available to dedicate to this, but I am determined to make additional income on the side.

My Side Hustle plan:
I want to generate passive streams of income that are scalable, I know this will take some time to set up so to receive immediate money I have started off with matched betting. I intend to design and sell T-shirts but this will take money to advertise, so I plan to use the money generated from matched betting to fund this. I have also started a blog, which I intend to monetise mainly with affiliate links.

Target:
£1,000 by 31st December 2017.
To be honest, I really don't know how much I will make. I expect most of not all of my income in the next few months to be from matched betting.

I will update my earnings this weekend.

You probably want to reach that goal by December 2017 instead of 2016 :)

Earnings £94/ Target £1,000 (31/12/17)

All earnings were from matched betting (began two weeks ago), to be honest I haven't dedicated much time to it. I need to step it up and my October target from matched betting is £400.

I've spent time on my blog this week and designed only one t-shirt, I have so many ideas for more designs. I'm also in the process of switching my current account to HSBC, I should receive a £150 bonus from this in the next couple of weeks.

Weekly tasks:
Design two more t-shirts.
Check on progress of HSBC switch.
Sign up to Amazon affiliate program.
Publish two blog posts.

I think having weekly targets is a fantastic idea. It's like a dynamic to-do list!

What your blog URL btw?

Earnings £185.84/Target £1,000 (31/12/2017).

Considering how well I've got on with matched betting this week (in addition to the above I also have about £80 profit in the pipeline), I think I'll easily meet my target for the end of the year. I've also heard the profits start to taper off after completing all the sign up offers so I'm not sure how long this level of income will continue. I'ms surprised by how easy it has been, it's got me thinking what I'm going to do with all this extra income.

Weekly tasks completed?
Design two more t-shirts - only completed one
Check on progress of HSBC switch - HSBC haven't done their bit so taking longer than expected.
Sign up to Amazon affiliate program. - done
Publish two blog posts - done.

I think I'm going to design one T-shirt per week, I feel like this is achievable and I can make better quality designs. To be honest I don't need load, if I do one per week for three months that more than enough. I'll start to think about how to sell/advertise them in November with the profits from matched betting. I won't use all of my profits, I'm going to begin with a very conservative approach.

The two blog posts I completed:
Book Review: The Automatic Millionaire
Why you should want to generate passive income streams

My blog views are increasing, looking at the amount of views in the first week of October I'm on track to receive 500 views in my first full month of blogging. In September I only received 61 views, but my blog was only live for two weeks. My plan to increase views is to be active and promote it on forums. Also to follow other personal finance blogs and interact on other blogs, hopefully in turn their readers will also follow my blog. I don't have much of a social media presence, I think I'll tackle this at a later stage and concentrate on one thing at a time.

Next week tasks:
Publish two blog posts
Design one T-shirt
Call HSBC and sort out switch
Promote my Matched Betting post on Reddit

Earnings £283/Target £1,000 (31/12/2017)
All earnings from matched betting.

Weekly tasks completed:
Publish two blog posts - Done.
Design one T-shirt - Done.
Call HSBC and sort out switch - Done.
Promote my Matched Betting post on Reddit - Done.

The two blog posts I published:
Brainstorm: Active Income Ideas
Book Review: The Money Tree: Money, how to make, save it and grow it

I have more time on my hands this week so I'll design two more T-shirts, I want to start advertising them now since I'm making a decent profit from matched betting. I've heard Instagram and Facebook are best for advertising so I'm going to first look into how the adverts work and cost. HSBC said it takes 50 for the bonus of £150 to credit your account, so maybe I'll get it for Christmas. This week I've only had 5 visitors from Reddit, I think I need way more content before I start promoting my blog, maybe I'll start in the new year. But I do think I need to have some sort of social media presence for my blog so I'll start on Twitter I think. Still on track for 500 views this month.

Next week tasks
Publish two blog posts
Design two T-shirts
Look into how Facebook adverts work & cost
Set up Twitter account for my blog.
Apply to Leapforce

Earnings £348/Target £1,000 (31/12/2017)
All earnings from matched betting.

Weekly tasks complete
Publish two blog posts - Done
Design two T-shirts - Only 1, think I'm going to go back down to 1 per week
Look into how Facebook adverts work & cost - Nope
Set up Twitter account for my blog - Yep, 59 followers already
Apply to Leapforce - Done

The two blog posts I published:
Selling T-shirts: CafePress vs Zazzle vs Teespring vs RedBubble
Good Debt vs Bad Debt

This week has been really busy with the amount of over time I've been doing at work but still managed to complete most of what I intended. I already have 59 follower on Twitter but I find that most of these are other bloggers, not many of the general public following me and I'm not sure how to change this, maybe it will just come with time? I posted my book review of The Money Tree on Reddit and receive about 350 views in one day, but my affiliate link was not working and I only realised in the evening, I'll never know how many people tried to click the link to purchase the product! I did sell one the next day however they purchased the used version from Amazon for 1p so I didn't make any commission. I then tweeted the review at the author who re-tweeted it, but only received a few views from this. I think the problem was that I reviewed a book 11 years old, going forward I think I'll be better off reviewing new releases.

Next week tasks:
Publish two blog posts
Design one T-shirt
Look into how Facebook adverts work & cost
Set up Facebook for my blog.

Good move on applying to leapforce, it can be a pain in the backside to get into at times but it's well worth the effort just due to how much money you can earn from them each month!

October 2017 Summary: £503

October 2017 has been my first full month of trying to generate additional income, I only began in mid September.

My Side Hustle blog views: 1,029. This is double what I was expecting so I'm really happy with this result. Around a third of the views were from when I posted on Reddit.

Blog posts:9, total since starting 15

Twitter followers: 86. I'm very happy with how my followers have grown especially considering I've only been on Twitter from mid October.

Additional income: £503 all from matched betting.

I've realised that some of my posts have too many keyword and so are less likely to appear on Google search results, I didn't even realise this was a thing, thanks Jon for pointing this out to me.

November goals:

Income £400 from matched betting.
1,000 total blog views.
Increase Twitter followers to 150.
Sign up to Pinterest
Get two weeks ahead on my blog posts.
Upload T-shirt designs on to CafePress and generally figure out how the site works.

My main goal for November is to work on the content of my blog. The number of views and social media following will be secondary. I think I need a couple of month of content under my belt before I start receiving any meaningful views and followers. In regards to selling T-shirts, I intend to do this as cheaply as possible. I don't really want to spend money on advertising as it may not amount to anything. First, I'm going to try getting other to use affiliate links to sell my T-shirts, this is why I have chosen CafePress as they make it easy to sell in this way. If this doesn't work I may then consider paying for adverts.

I noticed today that one of my older posts is my most viewed post over the last few days. I thought it was weird since I haven't been promoting it. Turns out it features on the first page of Google for certain keywords! I am absolutely thrilled by this! Now I just need to figure out what I did right with this post and do the same for the rest of them :D.

I'm not sure what but something happened last Sunday that caused my blog views balloon to more double what they used to be! This is really exciting that people are actually reading my blog, and motivates me to work on it even more.

I also made my first affiliate link sale, commission for me was only 46p, but I've got to start somewhere right?

I've not had too much time to work on my side hustles in the last couple weeks due to family commitments.

I really should get back into Matched Betting - I'm pretty sure most of what I make goes to Odds Monkey as I don't bother cancelling the subscription - oops!
So as a newbie here I'm still trying to get my head round it all & which is the way to channel my time. I've signed up to Prolific & Resondent thanks to @Jon
I've earned a few 3.00 on Prolific so far & waiting on surveys to come back from Respondent that I've applied for, so fingers crossed.
I have a few items listed on Ebay which I hope I will put to my 1st try at MB, scares me to be honest.
