November 2017 Review
See my full November 2017 Review here.
Total income: £488
Breakdown:
Matched betting: £288
HSBC current account switch: £200
I have just about kept up with publishing two posts per week on my blog and halfway through November the matched betting dramatically reduced. Because of doing overtime on top of my fulltime hours at work and just general life, I haven't been able to work on anything else in November. MatchedBets actually got into contact with me to become an affiliate, this is the first time a company has reached out to me so this is exciting. I've also had someone on Reddit message me to tell me how much they love my blog and want to subscribe (I only have the basic WordPress subscription), it felt great to know people out there find my blog useful and want to come back for more.
Did I achieve my November goals?
Income £400 from matched betting - Nope but I did exceed this target with overall income.
1,000 total blog views - Yep, 1,326 blog views.
150 Twitter followers - Yep, 163 followers
Sign up to Pinterest - Nope, I've decided against this for the time being. I'm not generating much traffic through Twitter (37 referrals in November) so I think it's better to concentrate on one social media platform at a time. Also, I'll need to use something like Canva to create Pinterest images, I tried the free version and I found there just weren't very many tools to create the type of images that I wanted to.
Get two weeks ahead on my blog posts - Nope, at one point I was a week and a half ahead but I just couldn't keep up with this. I'll have more time from December onwards so I should be able to get ahead, especially during the Christnas break.
Upload T-shirt designs on to CafePress and generally figure out how the site works - Nope, just too busy for this.
December 2017 Goals
£400 income from matched betting
1,500 total blog views
200 Twitter followers
Get two weeks ahead on my blog posts
Re-write some of my old blog posts
Use CafePress to sell T-shirts
Create mailing list
I have a week off over Christmas and I have a tiny family so this doesn't tend to be a very busy time for me. I should be able to dedicate a lot of time to side hustles. My Leapforce application (now Appen) has finally been accepted and I intend to average 1 hour a day on this. I'm not entirely happy with a few of my previous posts, so I want to spend some time reading and re-writing these. I don't spend much time proof reading, this is part of the reason I want to get ahead on my posts, I find when I look at them a couple of weeks later I think of additional things to add or think of a better way of getting my message across.
