I have actually stopped doing mystery shopping because I wasn't earning a lot of money (£30 for one assignment and that was about 3 years ago!!). The work was majorly sporadic and mainly in areas that I couldn't get to. Also, they took no notice of the fact that I can't drive (despite it being on my applications) and kept sending driving mystery shopping assignments. So I got annoyed with it in the end. Sadly, I deleted all but one of my accounts for mystery shopping, definitely wouldn't recommend.

Who were you with that sent you jobs? The only time I get sent them is when they cant fill them and tend to be offering an extra fee. I don't think they are going to go through every profile before sending them out.

There is a couple of large user groups.. Mystery shoppers UK forum https://www.facebook.com/groups/489715297793564/ and Mystery shoppers hideout https://www.facebook.com/groups/mshoppers/ in the UK forum you can expect to be treated like a bit of dirt by the "regulars" on there, dont ask for any help or advice..you will just be ridiculed.. TBH the group has absolutely no point existing unless you are one of its elite clique..but fire away :)

WOW! I am in both Facebook groups and have never been mistreated, in fact, I find the members very useful when there are doubts or I need emergency contacts.

Most about 10 minutes or so. They tend to be mainly tick boxes and a summary at the end. There is the pictures to add, but again that does not take long. There are very few that take me 15 minutes or more.
I've a tendency to treat them like a literary masterpiece, although I'm trying to let go of them quicker. The ones I do aren't 10 minute tick boxes. There's lots of comments and narratives involved. 30 minutes to an hour reports are more realistic for the better paid jobs. I'd feel I was skimping it otherwise.

No worries

Hope you get some, competition is rife for them around the Leeds area (or was when I was doing them many years ago!) but who the heck can turn down the chance to get a discounted Five Guys burger!!
Thanks. I'm around the West midlands area we shall see.

I still do bits and bobs of mystery shopping, some companies and clients really do take the mickey with low fees/reimbursements but there are still good jobs out there. For example I recently had 3 months membership of a very expensive gym, plus meal reimbursements plus fees, for a fairly easy series of reports through Proisnight (good for gyms etc). I still do the odd meals here and there, occasional hotel trips etc.

Fraid not. Mystery Shopping is very much a part-time gig. Add that with the competition to investigate venues and the time investment just isn't enough to make a decent living off of.

yeah I used to just use Mystery Shopping as a thing I did for 'things. So first it was meals out, then lunches, then we got into the nights in hotels / weekend away stuff..

But you are never going to earn a living off doing MSing just by itself. Smartphone Task app, perhaps. Traditional Mystery Shopping nah

Thanks for the link I'll take a look. Have been doing mystery customer work for quite a few years now. I have stopped doing jobs for most of the sites I joined because the pay is peanuts and I thought they were just not worth doing but there's a few I've never heard of so will take a look.
