Hi everyone,

I am new on this journey of trying to earn extra income from home, I can see there are lots of possibilities but I do not currently have time to sign up to 101 different platforms and want to focus my effort on the most lucrative/enjoyable.

I have currently signed up or am in the process of getting started with the following, but are there any that I have missed which you would classify in your top 5?

Appen
Prolific
Matched Betting (will be starting once bank card comes through)
Utest
Respondent
BeMyEye
Marketforce
Already have quidco and topcashback so will be looking at using those more too.

Hit me with it, any blinding omissions? Thanks in advance!

2 years ago I would have added the other task apps to your current list, but with the current state of jobs I'm seeing on there I don't think they're really worth it at the moment. Unless perhaps you live next door to a big retail park/shopping centre where there might be lots jobs with little travelling.

Appen and Matched betting will provide you with a big slice of income so I would focus on those. Maybe add Populous surveys too.

I would definitely consider Populus Live Surveys & maybe You Gov or Opimium Research Surveys as well.

Thanks everyone! Can;t lie I am finding the surveys more than a bit of a slog - when I eventually get any through that is (just over a month now and earned about 40 quid so far from them).

I have been toying with a blog for a while now, but currently I just can't justify more outgoings in the hope that one day they will reap some rewards, (if I had money to burn I wouldn't be looking at ways to bring in more income). I might bite the bullet and give it a go if it looks like other streams will cover the costs so at least I'm not losing money.

Really appreciate your advice

Power of Opinions send a lot of short surveys and if you get screened out it is early on.

"want to focus my effort on the most lucrative/enjoyable." The problem what is lucrative/enjoyable to one person might be a hard slog for someone else. So perhaps if you shared what you are good at we could advise better.

My (random) thoughts:

The more in demand skills you have (or can acquire) the more money you can make.

Monetising your 'down time' (e.g. through surveys and microtasks) is slightly different from taking a second job (e.g. Appen/ Lionbridge) in terms of committment and hourly rate. The best thing for you depends what your ultimate goals are.
