Hi

I hope that someone can help with this enquiry.

I've recently started doing some mystery shopping and using the Job Spotter app, amongst other, to earn some extra money.

I've been doing some preparation work with regard to tax, so I've read up on the whole Self Assessment situation, which I'm pretty sure that I'm ok with, and I've registered and activated my self assessment account on the Government Gateway.

I'm a bit confused about the NI contributions though. I won't earn the £8060 level to pay Class 2 contributions, so how do I claim the exemption? There is a link on the green site, but that link is to a form CP10 which has been withdrawn.

(I work Full-time, so pay Class 1 contributions with my employer)

Hi @NRS

Fantastic to have you on here and posting!

I am in the same boat as you in that I work full time in a main job while also doing self employed work on top of that

It USED to be that you did NI separately which is why that form would have existed but when I did my tax return for 2016-2017 a few months ago it seems to all be automated now based on the numbers you put in.

Hi Jon

Thank you for the response. That would make sense at least.

It's good to know that there are others in the same boat. I've had a look on a few threads on here for some other ideas for money earning. I don't have a financial target in mind for my money-earning, I'm just trying to bring forward the date at which I can either go part-time or retire!

It's easily doable

I've gone down to 4 days from 5 at work due to how much I earn online so the opportunities are here ;)
