Terms state the offer applies at the time that they receive form back from recommended friend which is when they have switch reference number and that offer can be withdraw without notice, I have sent a online message asking if it would be honoured, i doubt it though.

I wonder if that means you only need to have requested a link by this time, or if the switch process must have already been started?
I called up to ask - the lady said she didn't know but didn't think so. If we could get any guidance on this that would be so useful lol.

Taken from press release https://www.nationwide.co.uk/about/...-changes-to-savings-and-current-account-rates

As a result of the focus the Society currently has on supporting existing members impacted by coronavirus, Nationwide has taken the decision to pause its Recommend a Friend offer from today (Monday 6 April). Any current account switches made before this date will be honoured ensuring the member and new member will each receive their £100.

The Nationwide advisors I've spoken to (albeit their Twitter support staff) have told me that any links generated before the "pause" began will remain valid and able to be used as normal.

So I currently have 3 referrals available. I think a couple of others on here have some as well, but these links will be of very short supply for the next few weeks or months.

Can we get a copy of that message or is it on their public twitter feed?

It's not much, just a tweet. And it's still not crystal clear but it's about as much as I think we're going to get.

Besides, I think logically any existing links will be valid because otherwise they'd be effectively screwing over a lot of people.

If anybody would like to switch to Nationwide with 2 direct debits and has never received a refer a friend payment from Nationwide I received link this morning if someone wants to use it to switch, send me PM

£100 from Nationwide + £50 from me after £100 is received from Nationwide = £150 if my link is used.

( I did Nationwide referral splits to Moneyshed members 2019/20 tax year as well as others offered splits on this thread)

Received this today from Nationwide

"Thank you for your message. We've made the decision to withdraw the Recommend a friend (RAF) incentive for any new applications from 6 April 2020. If a member submitted their RAF request prior to 6 April, if both recommender and friend meet the eligibility, we'll process their application. If their application was rejected due to incorrect information being entered on the form, they will no longer be eligible to submit a new application. As you started the process on 5th April, provided both you & your friend meet all other eligibility requirements, we would honour the offer"

Please do not offer to split the reward. Everyone offering referrals here has an equal chance of having their links used, but as soon as someone starts offering splits it takes chances away from other posters, who are forced to either do the same or be overlooked.

Fun fact - want to know which individual posts do the best and get the most clickthroughs (which I can see at my end)

As ever it’s the forum post with the most context around it, this isn’t a facebook group or reddit, being the latest post gives you sod all of an advantage so you need to “pitch” a bit differently.

just link dumping and coping and pasting the same text as everyone else does around the Internet doesn’t give google anything. Why should you swap? What’s do good about it? How long does it take? Do nationwide do any checks etc?

Then when someone searches for “nationwide bank sign up offers” in google its YOUR post that gets presented to them :)

£100 bank switch offer!

Hi....Still looking for a Nationwide bank switch referral? If so, read on.

In these troubled times of the covid19 pandemic, Nationwide have paused their very popular Nationwide referral scheme in order to cater for the extra demands placed upon their staff.

Luckily for you, I have 2 outstanding referrals that are still valid and will be honoured should you meet the criteria for opening an account with them.

Please note; No personal details need to be exchanged between us.

So, after first passing a credit check, you must then set up atleast 2 active direct debits on one of their 3 accounts. Flexplus, Flexdirect or Flexaccount. (Please see their website for details on each account,to decide which is best for you)

On completion of the switch we will each receive £100.( approx 14 says after completion).

Still interested? Course you are...

Drop me a line as these referrals will go quick.

Thanks for reading, stay safe

Kind Regards

Steve

If the recommender got their links before the shutdown they should still be valid, according to what Nationwide seem to say. I've sent you a message containing a link if you want to go ahead and open an account now.
