Evening all,
I need recommendations for a good budget vacuum cleaner, preferably not too big or bulky.

Currently using an ancient bag vacuum. Live in a 1 bed flat.

Don't be taken in by Dyson's marketing. Its just a fancy looking over engineered hoover that does the same job as every other hoover . I've always bought the cheapest vac I can find. (bagless, as it saves money in the long run and they seem to be better) Just avoid the unbranded supercheap stuff from China

Have a look on ebay and see if there's anything local to you.

If you do want something a bit more expensive keep an eye on https://www.hotukdeals.com to see if any vouchers or discounts come up

What is your budget? I just got a new one, I like Shark vacuum cleaners. My backup was a cheap unbranded one from China I got via mystery shopping! And I was surprised that it did a good job, it was too small for a house though, lol.

The best thing to do with a Shark vacuum is set fire to it. I'm refusing to use ours until I can afford a Miele/Hitachi cylinder again. I find the upright Shark so unstable and am fed up with it crashing into my legs and/or doors. Gah!

Around £100 (or less) ideally, and not too big/bulky, easy to store.

I went for a Gtech with a handheld cleaner too....cordless and amazingly lightweight. Good charge which lasts ages as got a reasonably sized house. Really good suction and easy to empty. Wanted a lightweight one that was easy to carry up and down the stairs. Previously was a loyal Dyson owner but am really pleased with Gtech.

Charge is the NUMBER 1 FACTOR I feel when it comes to cordless ANYTHING! Doesn't matter if its a grass trimmer or a vacuum cleaner if you pay less to get one and the battery can only last 10 minutes but you have a 4 bedroom house it's a pointless purchase!

A lot of these devices cos so much just because of the battery technology
