Hi, I've been lurking on this forum for a while trying out all the tips and tricks, thanks to everyone who contributes it's been a big help, but recently decided I wanted to start a blog. I set up through the HostPresto link, everyting went through fine, but now I'm having trouble understanding how to post and set up the blog.

I checked the totatlly blogging for setting up wordpress and followed the instructions, but when I go into the settings and onto the wordpress manager I get - No compatible WordPress sites exist on this cPanel account. - so I'm thinking I've set it up wrong somehow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also it's been 24 hours since i set up the website so i assume that's long enough to wait for it to be set up. I did get a confirmation email saying - A new installation of WordPress 5.0.3 has been completed.

If you go to your domain with /wp-admin/ at the end of it so https://www.jon.com/wp-admin/ do you get a login box to login as the wordpress admin?

Yeah you've not installed Wordpress correctly. Have you put it in a folder by accident perhaps?

Either way, go back into Cpanel > Softilicious > Install Wordpress (MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL IT IN THE ROOT OF YOUR HOSTING SPACE AS I THINK THE WORDPRESS DEFAULT MIGHT PUT IT IN A FOLDER!) and it should then put it there

if that still isn't working, then just raise a support ticket and ask them to install wordpress for ya, they'll do it in a matter of minutes lol

No worries, am always here if you need more help ;)
I'm really glad you said that because, unfortunately, I do need a little more help.

My blog is all set up now, thanks for your help, but I can't seem to get the SSL certificate sorted. I've read the set up through totally blogging about how to install an SSL certificate but I can't seem to find LetsEncrypt to install it. I go onto my Cpanel and then under security into SSL/TLS. I'm then not sure where to find the LetEncrypt option.

Once you've clicked through you will be given the chance to browse for available certificates and can select the LetsEncrypt one from there. - this part is what I'm stuck on from the tutorial. I get the option to self-sign and not LetsEncrypt. Any help would be much appreciated thank you

Self signed is fine.

All you need to do now is search for this plugin in addons on your dashboard and install the plugin

I've tried both plugins but doesn't seem to be working. I noticed when I deactivated and uninstalled both plugins to go through the process of installing again I got a message at the top of the page after the plug in installed saying - Really Simple SSL failed to detect a valid SSL certificate. If you do have an SSL certificate, try to reload this page over https by clicking this button:

When I use the https://www.whynopadlock.com/ website I get a notification saying my webserver isn't forcing the use of SSL and a warning about self-signed certificates as well.

Right and if you then click 'Manage SSL Sites' what does it show then?

Also Can you try using this plugin, please

Again, search for it by going into your wordpress dashboard > addons > add etc
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-force-https/

Make sure you deactivate the other plugins you've downloaded for HTTPS woes so far
