Thought this deserved its own thread.
Betfair now have a new commission and reward structure. You should have received an email about it but its worth checking your account if not to check what level you are on and change it if necessary. This is good news for people gubbed from sportsbook because we can now forgo any promos and take 2% commission on the exchange. If you're still getting sportsbook promos then I would stick with 5%. Note: you have to place a certain number of bets each month to qualify for all the offers. You can find it in the account section in Promotions and rewardsbf.jpg

I think @homie has given good advice on the way to approach it in terms of which option might be best suited to your circumstances, there is an option to request a change to your selection if you're not happy with your initial choice anyway.

I would give up free spins and a £5 acca a month to drop from 8% to 2% on the exchange!!!!!

yes, but you also lose all sports book promotions like BOG and the 3/1 offer.

Haven't used them in ages. Already gubbed on Sportsbook, and with 0% on both MB and SM doesn't seem to be any incentive to use them for me

true - recently i've started to use betconnect more and more as 0% commission. Suffer from lack of choice but with no qualifying loss doesnt bother me too much
That website looks far too off the beaten track..

What if you were doing horse racing bets and needed things to lay instantly due to the race going off very soon?

Can someone give me a dummies explanation of this as to which would be of most use to me? I’m obviously leaning towards the lowest commission option-I don’t do anything other than laying bets and don’t do any offers but I’ve just started match betting again so unsure of this would change?

also does anyone know when this started? looks like i've been on the 8% plan which means that any qbs i have done in the last week have been based on the wrong commission amount!

@Autumn500 It started at the beginning of this month. Surprised you are on 8% as it usually defaults to 5% if you don't actively select something else. If you are sure you are only going to use betfair for laying and don't want to do any of the sportsbook offers then the 2% would be best.

Yeah that’s quite annoying especially as all my bets have been out of whack now! Have only placed two free bets so hopefully it all balances out with the decrease in commission-my own fault for not paying attention of course!

I'm on the lowest commission tier. Great for win+btts, Handicap, and goalscorer markets. Best liquidity still at the fair.

Times are a changing as the exchanges compete for customers!

Thanks for this thread @homie, just found it when answering a question about this very subject on the Discussion thread and thought it needed one too :)

Has anyone else had their offers disappear before this Rewards started? I used to get quite regular Bet £10 for £5 FB Exchange offers but have only had one recently.
Also, have only ever done about 3 or 4 Saturday 3/1 bets but this has now disappeared as an option for me.
I am partially gubbed on the casino side and wondering if I have been gubbed on the Sports side now too?

I am thinking of opting for the 2% commission if this is the case, I only really use them for the WHill Golden Goal so am unlikely to place xx amount of bets per month anyway.

Glad you found this thread @Autumn500 - I would have re-directed you if I had known about it sooner :)
