On having a new kitchen installed and de cluttering, it's come to light on how much money we wasted on gadgets such as bread machines, juicers, blenders, to which none are being used and put to the back of a cupboard, I even found a brand new pressure cooker, so when a new gadget comes on the market, the question has to be asked "do I really need it, or just want it".

good thinking..

we don't have THAT many appliances in our kitchen

Microwave
Juicer
Toaster
Fridge Freezer

That's it!!!

Used to be a LOT worse and that was when we lived somewhere with a much smaller kitchen!

The green site has a similar 'mantra' for buying anything, which I think is good practice:

Do I need it? Can I afford it? Will I use it? Is it worth it?

If you answer No to any, think again!

Another good way of thinking is to work out roughly how many hours you would need to work for the item in question (if you are lucky enough to have a job, or way of earning regularly), and then see if it is still worth it. Makes you think :)

We do have a lot of gadgets in our kitchen, and some I'll admit were a waste and I either don't use (smoothie maker, spiralizer) or have gotten rid of (soup maker, it died and I didn't care) but others get a lot of use - such as my Instant Pot which I am in love with, my actifrier which I use a lot, burger press is regularly used, mandolin, kettle, microwave, george foreman, toaster, blender - all do get used to some frequency.

We've got quite a few gadgets, however, all are in use regularly. I did have a clear out a few months back and haven't bought any new ones since.
I'm fortunate too that some items, such as my stand mixer, I was sent free to review :)

We used to have a George Foreman but man alive cleaning that thing is just a total nightmare.

Obviously we found it easier to throw it out rather than clean it!!

ah yeah, Kettle!!

Is the toaster the egg, beans and toast toaster or is that an additional one? ;)

We have microwave, kettle, mixer, toastie maker and a pizza oven - which was free for a review and is going on Facebook at some point haha If it was up to me I'd have waffle maker, omelette maker, waffle cone maker, donut maker...all the junk food makers but [member=665]VirtualWombat[/member] flat out refuses to give in to my puppydog eyes ;)

I've got:

Breadmaker
Nutribullet
Slow cooker
Toaster
Kettle
Stand mixer
Pestle & mortar
Digital scales
Health grill
Microwave
Steriliser

Over the last year I've got rid of a cake maker, popcorn maker, sandwich toaster (Use the health grill now), few other bits like cocktail shaker and stuff I rarely used.

I use all of the above at least once a week, if not more. Steriliser will be going soon!
