Thank you for reading.

I am looking at setting accounts up in Coral and Betfair. In the Coral sign up process there is a choice of setting up a credit account with them, where it states that you are responsible for any fraud on your account.

How safe is it to have a standard account with Coral, could someone easily take over my account and set up a credit account using my details. Does that happen?

I had my details stolen in the past, I would like some reassurance.

Thank you.

You don't need a credit account with coral [member=3688]bear376[/member]

Just create a normal account with them and you will be fine ;)

Sorry, I meant would someone else be able to set up a credit account in my name and commit fraud, by using my standard account details.

Thank you.

Thank you.

The general consensus would be to open a basic bank account separate to your main bank account and use that for matched betting. I would also set up a new email address as you will be getting a lot of offers from the various bookies - I find this useful to keep MB promotions separate from my main email account.

In terms of fraud if the bookie got hacked then there is a chance fraud could be committed with the customer details. Most UK bookies have to adhere to fairly strict data protection and security controls so the chances are slim that fraud would be committed.

I would say there is the same chance of that happening as someone setting up a Halifax credit card in your name

You signing up to Coral isn't connected with someone trying to do something using your home details elsewhere on the internet if that makes sense
