[member=2532]EmilyDav[/member] In Auckland go to Mt Eden, the dormant volcano as it gives you great views of the city (there is a great hostel close by). Take a boat across the harbour to Devonport. Head right from the ferry terminal, climb the hill see the gun embankments/view of Auckland then follow the path down to the beach and cafes. A couple fo them do amazing kumara (sweet potato) chips!

I have three New Years Resolution:

1) Reduce my internet/technology usage (not going well so far...)

2) Learn web design building a portfolio up.

3) Learn to do the splits.

Good luck though; I would love to be able to do the splits but wonky joints and a lack of co-ordination rule that one out!

Iv thought of another New Years resolution - to get away more. I'm forever trying to save money to pay off our mortgage but I feel like I'm missing out on living in the monent. I think i can allow our family a holiday once a year, it'd be nice to do it while the children are young. So this year I auntie to go on a family holiday and also have a little break for just me and the husband.

I would like to finally get a blog up and running, but with the MB I have let this slip a bit.

Not had a drink since the 3rd Jan
Cut back on eating and bought a diet book - intending to create a new weekly menu beginning next week
Still doing MBing and will try to learn more about horses and ACCA's over the coing weeks

I'm going to order mine from most likely to least likely.

  • Make £200 a month (mostly from MB I imagine but I'd like to get into some other stuff), I just signed on a used car yesterday and would prefer not to have to touch my regular income for repayments.
  • Get the house more organised, it's a bit messy at the moment and there are a number of projects I'd like to get sorted that we currently can't.
  • Pay off the 0% credit card that has been rolling around for the past few years, each time it comes up I stick in on another 0% balance transfer deal, I'd like to actually be able to clear it off this time!
  • Get a pay rise at work, my pay hasn't moved in almost 2 years now so it would be nice to get a bit more money coming in from that.
  • Get into blogging, I keep trying but never actually manage to get a blog going.
  • Get back into running, I got about 1/2 way through Zombies Run 5k (Zombie themed couch to 5k, highly recommended) but then stopped over a year ago for various reasons.
  • Make another £200/month (or more!), while it should be possible with MB, I'll probably need to add more money making ventures into this.

I think that's everything, at least all I can think of for now.

Felt like revisiting this a month and a 1/2 in, hope no one minds, would be good to see how others are doing.

The £200 + £200 goals I'm in line to smash this month thanks to MB + uTest (almost at £400 already).

One room of the house is more organised (the kitchen) so that's a start.

I've done some work on setting up a blog, the hosting is sorted I just need to actually put some time aside to write the content.

Great idea askgar

1) Yup, weight-loss and fitness improvement (again). My sister gets married in August and my first dress appointment is March so I need to crack on. Once I've lost a little I might start looking at the gym - for fitness and socialising.
2) Expand my group of friends. After another shitty turn out for my birthday I really need to rethink my social circle.
3) Clear debts - this is my biggest goal for the first half of the year (I know it should be at number 1 haha). I hope to ramp up my matched betting and clear them all in March.
4) Blog: Try and get my post count up to 3-5 a week rather than the 1-2 a fortnight. Get ChammyIRL to a year and beyond
5) Younique: I plan to have a team of at least 5 by the end of the year and maybe help them achieve their own teams(one has started). Attend more stalls and generally start looking at it as an earning rather than a hobby - while remaining unspammy.

1) 7/8lbs down
2) Working on
3) Working on
4) Getting 3-ish a a week
5) No change as of yet (but I've not been giving it much attention)

Last year my resolution was to be happier, and I have been. I've let things bother me considerably less and I don't think I've cried more than a few times all year, and that was because of serious things (loved one passing away, baby things etc).

Next year's resolutions:

1. Stay debt free
2. Give my lovely husband a surprise £5,000 (this will be near the end of the year as I have something in mind)
3. Have an amazing year with my husband and daughter, put us first and avoid letting family cause so much of a headache with their drama
4. Blog at least 8 times every month, even once the baby is here
5. Make at least £10,000 once back to work from maternity leave

I think that's it, I may add more. Thanks for the thread and good luck to everyone.

2. Made a very small start on this.
3. Excited as only a month, or so, until the baby is due!
4. So far, so good! Also scheduling in advance, February completely done and working on March!
5. I wasn't expecting to make much at all this year but I'm already working on this really well (couple of £K in I think) thanks to passive income

Thanks for the idea to revisit, nice to try and stay motivated and remind myself what I set!

Okay, my resolutions.

[*]Earn £1,200 to put into the homebuy ISA I'm thinking of opening (you can only put £200 a month in after the initial amount so I want to put the full amount in to start with, considering Halifax are offereing 4% AER it's a lot better than my 0.8% with santander)
[*] Sort out a separate phone for downloading apps/playing swagbucks videos etc.
[*] Learn enough German to hold a conversation. (and not accidentally speak dutch when trying to do so because that's embarassing)
[*] Eat better. I may be using PACT to help me with that.
[*] Make sure I don't miss any of my Pride and prejudice read-a-longs on youtube, especially when I have Patreon donations.
[*] Buy more chemises, though things are so comfy to lounge around the house in.
[*] -Maybe- try matched betting.
[*] Make sure my taxes are in order before my accountant asks for them. Oh yeah, have money to pay the accountant!!!
[*] Not exactly loose weight, but try and reduce the tummy/hips so i can fit into more clothes.

I'm actually going to try and NOT have a big holiday in 2018 as I am saving for one in 2019 so gotta resist those ENDLESS holiday adverts you get at the start of the year and just squirrel away money endlessly!!

I plan to do matched betting and some other work once my son starts nursery in the spring so hope to increase my earnings. ad do something more constructive with my time

We're going to seriously watch what we're spending as we want to overpay the monthly max on our mortgage payments for the year ready for remortgaging at the end of the year - we should have a better rate, especially if we overpay.

I want to get the UK Vegan Blogger community up and running properly, head to events and help with a successful Veganuary.

ChammyIRL to continue to plod along, maybe increase my earnings by a few hundred a month.

Watch what I eat a little better and throw in some additional exercise, I've lost a nice whack this year but pre-Christmas munching is already kicking in so I'd like to lose another couple of stone by the end of next year

Mine is to make £500 a month from matched betting, a nice addition to my monthly income. Try to get a better paid job.

I also want to make an app, but first I need to learn to code.

Wow! That's quite a list (all achievable!)

I've done the stop drinking for a few months at the start of the year thing before but I only ever get as far as March before I cave lol

I bet you're really excited for your wedding in July as well!

I guess as you are going to Disney in 2019 (same as us!) you are booking in 2018!
