Hi

I've always been a strong believer in if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

A Google search looking for a Roamler activation code lead me to The Money Shed. I tried looking for reviews but all reviews I found appeared to be members of this group

I'm not interested in matched betting (?) but I am interested in earning a little extra from doing surveys, mystery shops etc. I already use Zap, Qmee, Toluna, Maximiles, Global Test Market, yougov, mobile expression, MC+.

I'm also interested in additional (legal, safe) ways to earn a bit extra, eg job spotter.

Would any of you lovely people be able to point me in the right direction for surveys that pay?

Also, why do I have to post ten times to get the Roamler code? Couldn't find it online, Facebook etc, just lots of " give me your email address and I'll send you the code". Why can't everybody just access it? It's only a survey. Just wondered what makes Roamler so special?

Hope someone can help explain this to me and give me a Roamler code, and if they can't, why can't they?

Hope you all have a fab money making/saving day and I hope I've not come across as rude in my first post, I'm just cautiously curious

Hi....me again....

I've had a rummage around the forum and can't find a "how to" page or link.

I've no sense of direction, so I probably took a wrong turning and am now lost! Help!

Thank you.

Hi there

A good starting point for earning online is always the beginners guide to earning online toolkit which you can find here which covers earning around £1000 a month online without any issues

https://blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/working-from-home-toolkit/

Are you generally just looking for low paying survey type work or are you wanting to do more higher paying work for your time?

Hi

I'll check that link in a moment, thank you.

As much as I'd love to earn £1000 a month, how would that work with regards to paying tax and national insurance? Also, that would affect my child tax credits.

I've always worked since I was 17 and have found myself sacked from my 12 years employment at my last job in July. I was sacked because I spoke up against the bullying culture, it made the bullying worse and led to a breakdown. My husband was made redundant from his job of 28 years at the same time. Thankfully he's now found a job.

I'm not claiming job seekers etc as I'm not tell well enough to look for work, but am exempt from other benefits due to always having worked previously and us being just £200 over the threshold to get working tax credits.

It's just be nice to earn enough that the kids could have hot school dinners again opposed to packed lunches and they weren't missing out on school trips or after school clubs as we no longer can afford it.

My 17 hour a week job, paid approx £700, and now I'm getting nothing and husband's new job is £2k lower than his previous job.

Any advice on surveys, product testing etc would be much appreciated, but I need to not earn too much or I'll have to find out how I pay tax and national insurance.

Hope you can help

If you earn more than £1000 a year online then you will need to register with HMRC
this is all covered here
https://blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/self-employed-toolkit/

The demographic on here are mostly mums anyway So will be able to answer any specific tax credit questions if you have them :)

Yes, I expected the demographic to be mostly students or mum's.

I've just registered for Academic Prolific and read through the headlines of the link you gave me in your previous reply, thank you.

Thank you for the HMRC link too. I knew the threshold was around £10,000 for tax but was unsure regarding child tax credits and national insurance.

Sounds like I'm in good company for tips and advice regarding these.

Do I have to do fresh posts to get to the 10 post qualified to get a Roamler code, or do the posts in this conversation count?

I've never joined forums before so I do apologise if I get things a bit wrong to start with.

This forum is easy to navigate....just quickly searched national insurance and a lovely lot of posts popped up looks like I can earn up to £120 a week to ensure I can continue claiming carers allowance. Looks like carers allowance also contributes to my n.i payments too, so Def want to keep below their threshold.

Hi Ally..welcome.. roamler is a bit of a pain with the needing a code and level 1 nonsense.. once past that good money can be made.. look at Bemyeye..streetspotr..easyshift...shepper....red wigwam...mobeye... Jobspotter ionly do 2 survey sites..prolific academy and populous live.. would advise rethinking about matched betting...easy to get a few grand and tax free...keep in mind it's not betting...just winning

Thank you Mabozza, I'll take a look at Populus live. Def not trying betting. Anything involving me parting with cash is not gonna happen.
Roamler seems ok so far, just got to complete one more task and I'll be on level 2. Qmee and Zap survey are my new favourites, do Toluna too to get £35 PayPal credit

Populous is ok.. i have managed about £50 on it in past yesr... roughly same with prolific got one in my inbox just now for £3 15mins.. i hear ya re spending to get... But you aren't spending money.. you are merely banking 50 or so quid which you can always withdraw back if need be... Absolutely nothing comes close to matched betting for earning potential...but your choice... Task apps can make a lot but most need factor in cost of fuel etc doing them ... I do most as i drive around the UK in my works van so have very minimal overheads and i do 2000 miles a week

Hi Jon,

The matched betting thing just doesn't sit right with me. If it sounds tgtbt it more likely is.

I could barely afford to lose £10, let alone pay in £50. I know I can get it back, but every penny is accounted for at the moment.

Thank you for trying to help though.

Hi ThriftyAlley,
I think the main reason that the Roamler codes are so hard to get hold of is to limit numbers and give its current users a fair go. As in or close to cities jobs often get snapped up very quickly ( this is very frustrating lol ) we are only give a few codes and only once we get to a certain level, but the higher you climb up the ladder the more codes you get. The reason the main response you are getting from peeps is asking for your email is that it is one of thier own ( limited) codes they are sending out to you. If you are uneasy about giving peeps your email then you could try messaging Roamler on thier Facebook page and they may be able to help you, send you out a code, or point you in the right direction.

That's explained it perfectly and makes sense.
Thank you

In all honesty, I think the whole system is a little bizarre.

The more workers they have the better clients they can get as they cover more ground.

Holding back workers joining up without an invite code, well I just don't get how it benefits them!
