Hello all,

So i've been lurking on the site for a few months and today I decided to take the plunge into Matched Betting.
I was fascinated by it but too scared to try it out..

I've overcome the first hurdle and received the free £20 on Coral. However, I didn't put enough money in to my Betfair account on creation, so I can't lay a stake of £14.14 for the next bet for which the liability was £56.56. I only put £10 even though I have about £80 to fund my kitty. I'm trying to deposit some more but I keep on getting an error message saying it's too soon to make another deposit. So two questions what's the time frame in which a new deposit would be allowed on Betfair ? and do I need to have the £70.70 (£56.56 + £14.14) in my account to make the lay bet or just enough for the stake ?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before... still trying to get my head around the whole thing.

Thank you.

Hi there

You will need the full amount to deposit to do the lay bet so £70.70 if that's what it is saying

Ok, thank you very much, I thought as much. But do you know why I'm getting the error message about my deposit being made too soon? I haven't set any deposit limits on the account?

I don't think you can make deposits in quick succession. Pop on live chat and ask as they should be able to help

Hi, finally sorted out the deposit, had to wait 24 hours. I've completed the two first offers and I have made a profit of £45,49, which is great, though it took me so long to sort out the BetFred one as all I could see were very high odds on Horse Racing. I am considering signing up for Platinum but a bit worried about the bulk of the selections coming up are on Horse Racing for which the odds keep on changing rapidly. Would you suggest I wait until the football season starts in earnest again in August ? I did use one of the obscure league games for one of my qualifying bets but I figured doing that repeatedly would raise flags as a bonus hunter. I want to try and avoid Horse racing as much as possible, any tips?

Personally I would use the summer to build up your bankroll so that when football rolls around you have got probably at least £1000 from doing all the sign ups and can do whatever offers you want ;)

If you place your bets on horses a few hours before the race starts you will find the odds don't move around anywhere near as much..

Thank you.
I'll probably give it a try for a month and see how I get on. I was convinced I done something wrong on the BetFred as I eventually had to select a Horse Race :) which started at 17:10. I was placing the bets just before 3pm and I believe the odds did change at least twice in the time it took me to do the calculations, hopefully, I'll get better and then understand the "secret" language that you and the other veterans are using in some of your posts..;)
